Maybe a 'porting fee'? Games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band let you transfer the older songs to the newer game for a small fee so something similar could be done to allow access to the other version.

YES! I was planning on getting a Mac Book eventually so having access to Mac versions of Steam games is awesome.

For a second I thought that was a Virtual Boy standing in as PC.

I just finished watching a play through of Portal on youtube
That's the saddest thing I've ever heard.  :(
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

So judging from the gameinformer teaser shot and what I think would be awesome, I'm guessing that the portals will be portals in space and time this go around, not just space.  Anyone see that or get excited about that?

I didn't get anything about time travel from the article. Chell was simply put into a freezer for 200 years and was let out on accident. The 200 years explains why everything is broken and overgrown.

Right but in the image the portals don't only go from one place in space to another, but also from the time of the first game to the jungle time of the second.  The left goes from first-game time to jungle time, and the second goes the opposite.  Not typical 88mph, 1.21 gigawatt time travelling, but portals from one point in time directly to another and back.

I like the idea of Portal with time travel puzzles like Zelda has had before. Could be really fun. I hope the game is a strange and humorous as the first one.

I have my copy of the PS3 version on order from Amazon.  I've been waiting all day for it to arrive via Release Day Shipping.  Figures, UPS is late as usual.  It's 6:30 PM and they stop delivering at 7 PM if I remember correctly.

So, is anyone else playing the PS3 version?  It'd be fun to play some co-op with you guys.  It might actually get me to pick up a PS3 headset.

EDIT: Naturally, as soon as I post that, my copy arrives.  I'm just going to grind through a few leftover trophies in Saboteur, and then I'll get to this game.   :D

To my knowledge, Valve has added Steam to PSN with the release of Portal 2. From what I've read, it is possible to do cross-platform co-op between PC and PS3 players.

The PC version is currently installing on my computer. If you were to set up Steam on your PS3, I'd be happy to play the co-op campaign with you.

Cool, I'll let you know when I'm done with the SP before I jump into Co-op.  I'd still like to get 3 actual PS3 players here because there's a trophy for hugging 3 players on your Friends List.   :P:

I still have a lot of stuff to blow up in Saboteur, but I've set it aside for the time being to start on Portal 2.  I can tell already this is one of those games where I wish we did have a forced install on PS3.  That first loading screen is horrendous.  It's bizarre to see a 2 minute loading screen to load geometry and textures this primitive.

EDIT: OK, seriously why does this game have to load every 3 frickin' minutes?  Take away the physics number crunching, and this game could practically be run on the Wii without really having to downgrade much.
