TalkBack / RE:REVIEWS: Transformers: Autobots & Decepticons
« on: August 02, 2007, 04:13:48 AM »
Brawl is the correct name, not Devastator.  Devastator is the name of the robot formed when the Constructicons joined together.  Side note: Bonecrusher is a part of Devastator.  Also see this:

There is some controversy over his name: the toys list the figure as Brawl, but in the film itself, and the official movie novelization, his name is Devastator. According to Roberto Orci, one of the writers of the movie, and Hasbro's Transformers team, "Devastator" is the mistake, and that the character is supposed to be named Brawl. The early leaked script Prime Directives had him named Devastator.

TalkBack / RE:Sony's PSP Strikes in March

Go figure, most of the titles are sports games.  That easily knocks out 14 of their line up for me.

More goodies?  I don't know about that.  The only thing that it comes with that the DS didn't have some equivlant to is the Memory Stick (and the DS doesn't really need that) and as much as I love Spider-Man 2, I've played the Metroid demo more often than I've seen the movie.  I still think the DS is the better deal here.  And remember, quality over quanity.  I'd rather have five good games at launch than 24 that completely suck.  Honestly, not everyone has to buy a launch title and certainly very few people (if any) will buy them all.  All it takes, in my case, is ONE good game to make me get the system.  Mario 64 DS was that game.  Will I buy more games?  Sure, I've seen the upcoming line up and there are a lot more games for me to get excited about.  And how often do you hear about people remembering more than a few launch titles?  The PS2 had, what, fifteen titles or so?  How many people know them all offhand?  Players will mostly remember the few great launch games that helped to sell the system.   I got a feeling that for the PSP people will remember four out of all the games.  Then again, we just have to wait and see what happens.

Come on, is it that hard to look at EB's website where they do have a pic of the shirt?

Not exactly new news, but at least people are more likely to hear about it now.  Click here for the game's official site.

General Chat / Stupid codecs
« on: May 15, 2004, 05:08:51 AM »
Is anyone else having problems playing the videos from E3?  Everytime I try to play it I only get sound and I'm warned that there was an error downloading the codec in Media Player.  Quicktime is missing software as well, but it doesn't say what.  Anyone know what to do?  I really want to see these videos.  Oh, and I'm on dialup in case that makes a difference.  Thanks.

Haha, that's awesome that you literally have a golden eye.  That's nice.  And despite everybody whining how it has nothing to do with the original Goldeneye, how do you know?  Maybe throughout the course of the game you somehow acquire one of the Goldeneye satellites.  And maybe you somehow control it with your golden eye.  I'm going to wait and see before I pass any judgement on the game because it's still far too early for that.

« on: March 29, 2004, 07:26:40 AM »
Plus, you have to remember that Mario and Luigi's original colors aren't the same as they are today.  Originally Mario had a blue shirt and red overalls while Luigi had a green shirt with white overalls and a matching hat.  Check it out, freaky, huh?

2XXX?  I've seen the date as 200X.  And didn't they say that WW2 would be around Christmas before?  I could've sworn that they did.

TalkBack / RE:Future Console Predictions
« on: February 21, 2004, 03:30:40 AM »
Oh please.  I hate analysts.  A year or two ago they predicted that video game sales would damn near cease and video gaming would be a passing fad.  Let's see, they predicted that for, this year or next year I think.  Now they change their mind and say it's going to thrive?  Please.  The only people dumber than analysts are weathermen.  They're the only two jobs where you're paid to lie.  Aside from politicians of course, but that's a different story.

« on: November 24, 2003, 04:57:14 PM »
I'm not so crazy about the new site, I don't think it's too inviting anymore.  It seems to be more of a bland business page.  Plus, I don't think all those images will load when I get back to the dial up.  I do like how the register product thing is easy to find now.  Overall, I think it's easier to navigate, but it's all white...

Well, I don't know about other college students, but I'm not a paper cutout.  And hey, the tour isn't even going to all the colleges in the states.  They are pretty nearly avoiding all the northeast.

Yeah, but there's no Link.  That woulda been cool.  In case you're wondering, they already have the images for the characters on the Spawn site.

TalkBack / Warning About Latest Nintendo News Letter
« on: March 24, 2003, 05:49:04 PM »
Hey, I only know that it's a major spoiler now after reading your warning.  Well, to be honest I had an idea that it was a spoiler when I read the email but I wasn't sure.  Then anyone might not want to check out the characters link on the zelda website if they want to avoid further spoilers.

TalkBack / Sega Plans Skies of Arcadia 2
« on: March 18, 2003, 08:41:58 AM »
YES!!!!!!!!!!  This is the greatest news that I've ever heard!  As long as the Swashbuckler rating and bounties return I'll be even happier!  Hopefully they'll add the option of going good or bad.  How fun would it be to become a Black Pirate?  Hehehe.  I can't wait for this one.

Nintendo Gaming / Skies of Arcadia input
« on: March 13, 2003, 02:46:09 AM »
I've had Skies of Arcadia for almost two months now and I loved every minute of it!  Though FF3 is still my favorite game of all time, SoA certainly had me reminsicing on those times!

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube Discs

I didn't know that was possible either until I started looking for audio clips from Skies of Arcadia and found several online that were titled cd something or other.  When I listened to them the characters said things like "I can't save the world from the cd player!"  That's what got me thinking about my original post to this topic.

Nintendo Gaming / what game wouldn't you buy for $10?

I'm sorry that I would have to say Eternal Darkness.

Nintendo Gaming / P.N. 03 & Soul Calibur 2 scores
« on: March 12, 2003, 02:33:10 PM »
I don't trust reviews very much.  Some game magazines are biased towards one console, and I'm not thinking of mags like Nintendo Power, and all other games for other consoles will score low for that reason.  And hopefully no one will kill me for saying this, but all the reviews I read for Eternal Darkness said it was great.  When I finally got the game I couldn't have been more disappointed.  So much for those "awesome" insanity effects.  I guess what I'm trying to say is take what you read with a grain of salt.

Just out of curiousity, has anyone ever tried to play their GCN games on a computer?  I don't mean on a emulator or anything, but opening the cd drive and putting the disk in to see what happens.  I know when SoA was released for Dreamcast if you put it in a cd player the characters would yell at you.  Anyone know if something cool happens when you try something like that?

TalkBack / Wind Waker Most Pre-Ordered Game in History
« on: March 12, 2003, 11:24:30 AM »
Woo!  I figured this would be one of Nintendo's largest preorder sales in history.  I mean, why wouldn't it be?  And 4 million for a preorder of Vice City?  That just sounds a little too large for me to believe.

After looking at those pics I started to think back to when I first played Secret of Mana.  I never played the GB version of this game so I hope that it's as good as I remember Mana to be.
