I never had a problem with Final Fantasy VII.  It wasn't up to the quality levels of the previous games, and it didn't feel like a Final Fantasy, but it was a very good game by its own right.  I have a problem with treating it like the best game ever, but I think that the game was quite good.  It had an excellent combat system, a good story, and good characters.  That's really all I require from an RPG.

PAL version of FF3/6? nope, wasn't released here for snes, was released for psx though.

But if you're really lucky, you might be lucky to find a copy of either of them for snes.

I'm lucky, I got my copy of CT for free

Wow, apparently this game has been in development for over 2 years. It is scheduled to come out in Japan this December. Sounds promising.

Perhaps, but they ain't that expensive (ps1's). ff6 is only 25, while fforigins is 60 (ffanthology is 50).

I doubt you'll find such a rare game just sitting around in a game store (well, that isn't quite true, I found PSO sitting in woolworths, $100).

I'd say check ebay or something, you'll have better luck searching there.

Chrono Trigger PSX is worthless.  It was a VERY poor port.  Get the SNES version at all costs.  Modding your SNES to play games from other regions isn't that difficult I don't think.  At least the NTSC/J -> NTSC/UC isn't that hard.

The psx version of FF6 isn't the best either, the loading times suck, but the fmv's aren't too bad (and they didn't remove the psycho cyan glitch) and they added in a run function.

In regards to other regions, ntcs > pal snes' are done using a converter, except some games have problems when using them (eg. FF3/6 - stops playing half way through the ending; afaik: 7th Saga - saves, but doesn't hold the save after you turn off (could've just been the cart though)).

Actually, all the SNES games that square released were very poor ports.  They frequently had emulation issues, slowdown, incorrect audio, and horrid load times.  But Chrono Trigger was by far the worst.
