what's this emo you speak of? I heard it used once before waaaaaaaaaaay back when I was new and you were talking about something called pyramid head or some crap like that. I don't keep up with all the fads, gossip, news, etc going on in the world so this term is kinda fishy to me.
Back on topic.
The dad in the story owned the video store in the small town I was living in, I used to go in and talk to him all the time about someday owning my own store and he used to give me lots of advice. He then started going to our church and became friends with my parents and then got a job at the casino cuz his business wasn't doing that great. He became a good friend and I really looked up to him.
The only reason I got to thinking about all this old stuff was he died last week and I was reminiscing and out of the blue I remembered that girl was his daughter. See I always forgot that cuz her and her sister were hispanic and he was not and I forget they adopted her so I hadn't even thought about her in so long it wasn't until he died my brain made the connection and then I started to feel bad again. I am long over it now it was a fluke incident really.
But to keep the thread alive I will tell another sad but true story from my past just cuz.
This one is less complicated and actually comes back on me differently than the other story. See basically there was a totally different girl I had started dating long after the events in above story happened. My sister met this looney nut in a chat room (back when Yahoo was king of the universe) and invited him out to where we lived so they could be together.
Well me and this girl we liked each other ok and all but ended up breaking up at the sweet heart ball cuz I was there as the DJ and agreed to take her to the dance and my friend who was supposed to give me breaks broke up with his girl just before the dance cuz she caught him messing around with someone else that same day. So he didn't show up for the dance and now I ws stuck running the sound booth the entire night after taking this girl to the dance. She decided that wasn't fair to her and dumped me to hang with her friends.
A couple months go by and my sisters boyfriend from St Luis is now in town and my parents won't let him stay at our house so me and him agree to get an apartment together, partly so I can get out of my parents house and partly so I can keep an eye on my sister. So we move into an apartment together and low and behold that girl lives in the apartment just below us. So we decide now we're out of school both have jobs and living on our own, maybe we should try again.
So I start hanging out with her at her place while she is baby sitting these little kids and we start getting pretty close and things are going good.
Well my job up to this point has sucked major balls and all I want to do is leave and things are looking bad so me, my sister and her then boyfriend start talking about moving to St Luis together. Up to this pint I haven't made up my mind weather or not to go cuz I have a decent girl, a pretty ok apartment and lots of friends. The downside was I hated my job, was driving a car my friends joked about running on AA batteries and was always fighting with my parents.
Then I come home from work one day early and find the dude in bed with a known gay dude. I confront him on this and he denies everything but basically tells me it was a misunderstanding they both got drunk, passed out and wound up in the same bed, said nothing happened and he had no idea the other dude was gay. I told my sister this and she gets angry at me and threatens to move to Canada with this loony freak. SO I agree to continue as planned to move to KS with her.
At this point I decide not to tell anyone we are leaving because my sister is afraid my parents will try and stop us, she is only 17 BTW and we're technically running away. So we pack up my car and just leave in the middle of the night without telling a single person, not even my girlfriend.
Needless to say we don't make it to St Luis, instead we end up going thorugh KS were we lived as kids and run out of money long before we get anywhere in the state. So we end up living in my car for a couple of months and my parents have to send us money to get us home. We get home and I discover two things, the first my sisters boyfriend has disappeared with all my stuff I left behind he was supposed to bring out to us. Second there was the issue of the girl I left. I completely forgot that I didn't break up with her and think maybe I can find her and explain it to her and fix things. No such luck turns out even though I was only gone for less than 2 months, she is now already married!
Wanna know the irony in the whole deal. Her brother ended up married to the girl I dumped at the prom. Yeah I know your thinking is he telling the truth or making **** up. Believe it or not this is all true, my sister can even vouch for me if you ever asked her. Of course she doesn't like to talk about that loser who screwed us both over cuz latter we found out he really was gay and was using her all along.
I should write a book about all the crazy adventures I've had now that would make a good comedy. See now we can close that job thread...
