Zelda BotW sequel.  Not excited.  I got real TP vibes from it which made it very disappointing to see Blue Link and Zelda.  At the very least I hope they improve some of the pain points from the first game.

Jeez , what a sad reaction.  Luckily I'd wager you're in the extreme minority. I absolutely did not expect to see the next Zelda so soon and I am beyond excited.

The fact that it's coming day and date is the most exciting thing about this news.

I really think you're overreacting. I'm having a great time with the online. Any lag issues that were present in the demo have been radically improved. In fact, I can't think of a game or a point I've lost due to lag.

Balancing is an issue, but the recent patch notes for the July tournament suggest it'll be something they're working on. Trick shots are hardly OP, there's a massive risk v reward. If people are beating you by performing trick shots and gaining energy consistently it just means you're playing too predictably.

Admittedly there's not a lot options with online, but what is there is fantastic and it's absolutely the online tournament mode where this game shines.

I've bought this at launch and have been having a great time online. The single player is a bit of a dud, but it's a seriously good game online.

Although I will say Bowser Jr. and to a lesser extent Waluigi almost ruin this game. Their reach and defensive capabilities greatly improve their opportunity to get an energy advantage and once that happens it's hard to come back from. I've started just refusing games with either of those characters now.

Well, Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat is the GOAT so the list is flawed, but I am excited to pick up Tropical Freeze. Where was all this universal praise upon its original release?

Oh man, here's plenty of retro-style games.

Sonic Mania is a very intentional love-letter to the Mega Drive/Genesis Sonic games, but unlike those games Sonic Mania is actually a really good game.

Axiom Verge is a well-crafted Metroidvania in a 16-bit style. The art-style is a bit too drab for my liking, but I did have a good time with the game overall.

Stardew Valley owes a lot to the early Harvest Moon games, both in art-style and gameplay. Though, Stardew expands on the Harvest Moon formula exponentially, and I suppose adds a lot of elements from the HM spin-off Rune Factory series, like crafting and combat.

Thimbleweed Park is another very clear throwback by Ron Gilbert to the old LucasArts click'n'point adventure games like Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion. It has been described as a "spiritual successor" of sorts. I haven't played a lot of Thimbleweed just yet, but I'm excited to dive in further as I'm a massive SCUMM-boy.

Kirby Super Star has 8 games, so it's only a few games short of the NES Mini..

It's not the same.. :(

I didn't really know where to put this, but Nintendo was planning and had starting work on a console Wind Waker sequel!

This makes me seriously sad. I mean I liked Twilight Princess, but Wind Waker is my favourite Zelda and one of my favourite games of all time.

Voting off Dasmos on the first day is a horrible, horrible thing to do.

I don't think what Smash on Wii U/3DS has to do with Switch, it is an entirely new console it's going to have it's very own version of Smash Bros. Probably be much better at scaling down to the smaller size, and to that end, did the 3DS even support the Game Cube controllers or was that just for Wii U? Because if it wasn't supported on 3DS there isn't a need for that support with Switch as it has a controller option that appears to satisfy the need for Game Cube style controllers. Unless people are just so stuck in the past they can't let that go.

Not sure if you noticed but Smash is Nintendo number 1 Franchise and the best selling fight game series of all time...just syaing

lol Nintendo's number 1 franchise.. What are you basing that on?

Also how much was the Wii U in the US? Surely the Switch would be on par, maybe slightly more than the Basic model Wii U?

So did MysticGohan ever show up after the off Switch announcement? Surely he'll have to surface sometime!

LOL, since I was beaten, here be more rumors. The floodgates are about to open.

EDIT: More stuff

A big indie team who brought their game to New 3DS but not original 3DS (sorry on vague wording, not hard to work out) have an NX dev kit.

At least three devs are waiting for tomorrow's NX name reveal to announce NX software.

SuperMetalDave64 is going to **** himself.
What about MysticGohan? How will he recover?

General Gaming / Re: Importing consoles?
« on: October 13, 2016, 10:47:17 PM »
Well that didn't answer any of my questions.
Next up, controllers. I am not sure why there would be any reason one controller wouldn't work but just to be on the safe side, are the consoles from Japan compatible with US controllers or would I also need to look into buying controllers for my consoles?

If I buy a Japanese console, is there any way to change language settings to English?

God, you're an asshat. It's also generally pretty hard to answer general questions about "consoles" without you mentioning which consoles you're referring to.

I hope you blow up your TV.

Controllers should work on all consoles I'm fairly sure. I've got a few NA and Japanese Gamecube controllers that all work perfectly. Japan had a lot of neat colours too.

I guess the only real reason to import is to play different games, but I don't always think you need to worry about importing consoles. GB, GBC, GBA, DS and 3DS are all region-free, I'm pretty sure, so you won't have any issues there. Except for things like eShop and such. PS3 is region-free too from memory. I'm pretty sure with the Gamecube and PS2 you can use "Freeloader" discs and such, which is a much less expensive way to go about it. Or mods.

Some Japanese games have language options. Most don't. It's game-specific, I guess. There aren't too many noteworthy PAL specific games, mostly games just skip us (especially Australia) not the other way around. The Wii had Disaster: Day of Crisis, which was great. Also Another Code: R, which is the sequel to the DS game and another solid game. Otherwise most exclusive games are F1 or Cricket, Soccer or Rugby games. For a while it was a good time to be a PAL Wii gamer, with all those exclusive J-RPG's but then those pesky Operation Rainfall members got involved.

Thanks, we're actually relying on a bunch of stuff from the asset store right now, but actually getting something up and running is pretty simple. Someone else worked on the gun, I made the muzzle flash for it. There are 6 of us all together. the final product will probably look substantially different, since it's not going to be happy times.

Really nice images!
I bet everyone in your class loved that game, and your grade must have been high :)
Keep up the good work

This is a nice, positive and encouraging bump.

Did you ever finish this Brandogg?
