Well my best friend and I tried the Double Down today, it wasn't bad, but like said before the chicken flavor overpowers the sandwich for the most part. It wasn't bad at all, but not something I look forward to eating again.

Really, the bread of a sandwich is just to keep it all together and make it easy to hold, it isn't supposed to add much to the taste.

I don't agree with this. The type of bread has a lot to do with making a sandwich good.

Ever had a sandwich on plain white bread? Ever had the same sandwich on fresh baked wheat?

Yeah...there's a huge difference.

Ugh, that KFC thing looks disgusting. So does that McGangbang thing, what the hell is wrong with America?

Needs more vegemite, amirite?

Nowhere near enough, Vegemite is the lifeblood of Australia.

I should make a EXTREME VEGEMITE SANDWICH. Okay, my mind is set, this is happening. In the planning stages now.

Haha.  Is it going to be a brumby's bread roll with a 50mm thick layer of vegemite cheesy bits smeared on it?  Maybe with some cheese.

I believe a quote from the old show JAG summed it up nicely.  I can't believe I remember this:

"What's vegemite?"

"When I was in Australia Sir, It's a jam they got down there,
It tastes a bit like diesel till you get used to it"

It does look pretty nasty. But I'd be willing to try it. I've also still gotta find some of that Nutella that was mentioned a few pages back.

nutella is amazing and everyone likes it...like Ferrero Rocher ? Than you have had nutella before.

Eat Vegemite on toast..that's the best way to enjoy it for a beginner. Honestly, i haven't had it in ages, so i don't even remember what it tastes like, but i did like it.

Yeah, I'm not too sure how I'm going to go about it. I could basically just dollop the whole jar onto a couple of pieces of bread and call it a day, but I've essentially being doing that for 20 years (I like a fuckload of Vegemite). I'm probably just gonna add a **** load of ingredients that "go" with Vegemite into a bowl, mix it up and the spread it onto a bun then wash it down with a glass of Vegemite. (Yes, Vegemite can be a drink too. I've had it as a mixer with vodka before...)

It's gonna be sweet.

Not too spicy. The chili has a little heat and the carne asada marinade has a Jalapeno in it, but the sour cream cuts a lot of the heat.

We need to make a NWR Funhouse Test Kitchen thread for all recipes and not just crazy sandwiches that make my heart timer tick a little faster.

A thread for everything we are making and not just meals for one that could feed a small village.

I think I'll get right on that actually..... just gotta decide on the format and the title

I think that's more suitable for General Chat, unless you plan on making it dirty by slathering the food of the recipes on yourself, or something.

I just made my Vegemite sandwich with Beef as a test-run. I actually tried to make it more of an edible sandwich as opposed to my chuck everything into the blender approach I metioned earlier. Although, as I'm a vegetarian until the end of the month I let my brother give it the first taste test. He said it was great.

So around early May I'm gonna give it another shot, and eat it myself. Although I won't use beef, I'm gonna go with something more Australian.
