I seem to be the odd one out when it comes to my opinions on this game.

I put together a video review of Moon Chronicles on my gaming youtube channel. I'd love to hear your thoughts and what the rest of you thought of this game. Particularly the controls.

I've seen the big list of games... but what games are people actually disappointed/upset about having online servers shut down?

Well I just happen to have a list right HERE :P

4
Yes, it affects third-party games. With few exceptions, they all used Nintendo's servers.

Nintendo have provided a list of the ~250 games with Wi-Fi features, check it out here:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/gameslist/games-wifi.jsp

Ah thank you, not sure how I missed that when looking around their site earlier :P:

Nintendo's site only mentions their first party games going offline in may but I'm assuming third party games like Goldeneye and Conduit use the same services to go online. I'm trying to find confirmation one way or the other. Anyone able to help me out? Thanks :)

I loved the way it was used in ZombiU, it really defined how that game played in general.

But on another note I love seeing it used to streamline games. Both Darksiders II and Wind Waker HD did a great job of just making the game more convenient. Being able to choose to have a nice big map or manage your character without pausing is a feature I feel a lot of people overlook. Games like that get called lazy but I view it as a huge improvement to the UI.

People with no self-confidence need to convince themselves that they made the right purchase by convincing everyone around them that whatever they bought is the best. It's a sign of low self-esteem and a general disregard for logical thinking. Pay them no heed and take comfort in the fact that you are wiser than they ever will be :)

The Link in this closely resembles Link from the pre-skyward sword manga that was in Hyrule Historia. This video goes into it if you're interested in the theory http://youtu.be/BJvRc-cwlMI

Anyway I'm excited to see if they do anything with the big wars we've heard about in Hyrule. This has the potential to both be a fun spinoff and yet still fill in a gap in the timeline such as the pre-skyward sword war with demise, the Hylian Civil War, or the Sealing War.

Delighted to hear reference to Battle Zone :P Did you guys ever play the N64 version? Its one of my favorite terrible games!

First of all thanks for replying to my mail about the Wii U this Christmas, I feel so acknowledged :P:

Anyways one of the features I wouldn't mind seeing in WWHD would be the note taking from the DS games. Being able to draw on your map to remind yourself of what's on what island would be awesome. I'd also like to see an inventory system that allows me to switch on the fly. Even in OoT3D it still paused the game before I could switch items around, I'd love to have the option to do that in real time on the gamepad. And finally I'm hoping for re-orchestrated music like we got with Star Fox 64 3D but NOT OoT3D :( cuz you can never get enough Zelda Music!

Say, Thunderbird Starkiller, how's Epic Mikey 2 on the Wii U? I may want to get that game down the road.

There are some pretty significant framerate issues surrounding a game that is, at its core, fairly mediocre. It is however much better than the original, and for me most of the appeal of the series is its classic 3D adventure game style that reminds me of growing up with the N64 :)

Not a bad game by any means and if you found it for a good price its probably worth picking up, though you don't gain much playing on the Wii U since player one doesn't have the option of using the classic wii remote controls.

Hm. I'm going to guess Nintendo Land was a present?

Or you just prefer white?

They were already sold out of black ones when I went to pre-order mine, figured it was worth the sacrifice to get it at launch :)

Keep in mind how long it took for the 3DS eshop to really get going... or exist... at all :P Nintendo doesn't rush into things, we wait longer, but we aren't bombarded with patches every ten minutes either. Hopefully what they're working on is getting their emulators running on the wii u so we don't have to play virtual console in wii mode. Is that an emulator within and emulator? emuception.... O_O

Here's mine:)

Plus Trine 2 and Little Inferno

Fumito Ueda recently left Sony, imagine having the creator if Ico and Shadow of the Colossus working at Nintendo. I know thats not a third party game but at the moment he's a third party person :P

lol I think bad reviews are more fun to read than the good ones  :P:

So Nintendo really is a cheap bastard then. They left the backwards compatability in, but removed the controller plugs and memory card slots.
I think they're goal was to make a cheaper version of the Wii. Leaving in a couple lines of code costs less then paying someone to go in and take it out. Then not having to build in controller ports and memory cards saves money too :)
