Pinhead is not an icon, he is way too niche to be considered one. It would be like putting in Captain Falcon instead of Link in a fighting game. Some of the Nightmare movies were bad, but several were really good (and watch Wes Craven's New Nightmare to see possible the best version of Freddy).

There's a lot of talk about the story in this one and pretty much everything in this one. The highlights for me were Youtube/Facebook support for replays, bringing a friend into training mode online.

As a kid, Hellraiser never did scare me much compared to others. Haven't watched any of the new ones (last one I watched was back in the 90's) so maybe the series has gotten better.

Never was a big Jason fan neither. Rather have Spawn who showed up in SC2 but hasn't been seen since.

I could go for that, though I still think the tone would be off. I would like to point out however that Pinhead could play very similarly to Spawn, given the chains and such. Actually, Spawn would have been a nice Xbox exclusive to counteract Kratos... just like he was in Soul Calibur 2.

I've been playing KoF XIII on my PC over the last few weeks, actually. It's the first time I've played KoF since the Dreamcast. It's been fun enough. Everything is in Japanese though, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on plot wise.

With the announcement of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown I went back and played VF5 for the first time in like two years and it was so different in comparison to some of the other fighting games I've played lately like MK9 and MvC2. I really was rusty. The new version is a downloadable game so it will be interesting to see what features might be missing.

Like VF5, I also was rusty playing the Third Strike trial but it was a great nostalgia trip of playing it in high school. I'll probably buy that and the MK Arcade Collection when I come up on some more money.

I love Persona but wtf a fighting game? Think it's more likely going be more of an pokemon fighting game where you issue commands than complete control.

I got MK Arcade Kollection on XBLA and regret it. These are the literal arcade versions. (Brutally -and unfairly- difficult just to suck quarters out of you.) I only played a few fights in each game before deciding I don't want to play it anymore.

Mortal Kombat 9 is still really good though.

In non-news: Probably not a lot of upcoming fight game reveals until TGS. I hear they're going to show a bunch more UMvC3 characters in action, including Phoenix Wright.

I played today Dead or Alive 3ds, and i have to say i came away impressed, the game looks very nice and runs smoothly, not even one minute playing i was pulling off 5 and 6 hit combos.
