Topic: Unannounced Titles Coming to Wii U's Launch Window

Still some surprises yet for Nintendo's upcoming home console.

In an interview with IGN, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime made it clear that there are unannounced Wii U titles in the works, some of which are intended for the five-month long launch window.

In addressing the purported concerns over the company's lack of announcements of post launch window titles, Fils-Aime said the company's focus is on presenting what gamers can buy between Wii U's launch and March 31, 2013. As for the unannounced titles coming during the launch window, Fils-Aime did not provide any information regarding the publishers or developers.

My guess is that it will be nothing more than additional party/sports games and eshop titles.  Nothing first party or AAA, though.  Not discounting any decent eshop games, but I doubt any of the unannounced stuff will be headline-worthy titles.

I wonder if there's something that is planned to fill an early summer slot but realistically could be moved up towards the end of the launch window if Wii U sales are not as good as expected and they want to give it a boost.

Knowing Reggie though, he probably means some minor eshop title.

That's a pretty big window. It could be something big like Tomb Raider or Metal Gear Rising. An announcement like that would likely affect quarterly projections and what not. We're approaching the end of Q3. That may have something to do with it.

I'm going with Pushmo HD and other eshop releases.  Nintendo hasn't really done much for small digital games lately, that I can think of.  Don't forget Miyamoto is supposedly working on something.  My bet is some new eshop IP.
