Time for the "Identify The Song Lyrics Game"

Okay, so here's the deal. Someone posts a lyric from a song and the next person who posts guesses who it's by and/or what song it is. I'll start it off.

"Three for the kings, of the elfs high in the light, nine for the mortal men, and cry"
"You've had your dream old man. It's time to wake up!"

Blind Guardian - Lord of the Rings.

Too bloody easy.  I was expecting something difficult.

Alright, here's a passage from one of my favorite songs.

Quote

if you feel alive
if you got no fear
do you know the name
of the one you seek
if you want the answer
if you want the truth
look inside your empty soul
there you'll find the noose

Once I had, a little game
I liked to crawl back into my brain
I think you know the game I mean

I figured most people here wouldn't know who they were. That would be from Danzig - How The Gods Kill.

And yes, I do think you would shack up with underage girls while staying in Japan. Because so would I. (I mean like, teenagers around my age.)

"Don't want your hand this time, I'll save myself
Maybe I'll wake up for once
Not tormented daily defeated by you
Just when i thought i reached the bottom
I'm dying again."

Anyone know what song it is?

'whatta day whatta day whatta day, if you can look it in the face and hold your vomit....'

who would that be?

By the way, i find it most peculiar that people who ignored the depression thread are present with the most depressing lyrics ever...
"If a man comes to the door of poetry untouched by the madness of the muses, believing that technique alone will make him a great poet, he and his sane compositions never reach perfection, but are utterly eclipsed by the inspired madman." Socrates

Termin8:

Evanescence - Going Under

The Omen:

Faith No More - What a Day.

Alright, in a switch from the depressing sort... I am posting this one... a different sort of depressing.

Quote

I've been watching you awhile
Since you walked into my life
Monday morning, when first I heard you speak to me

The Omen, I think I posted in the depression thread, but kind of didn't have anything to say after that...  It's not that I am a happy person or anything like that.

Man I suck.  I haven't been able to even guess any of these.  Though if you think about it this game can be really hard because if you use a non-hit or an obscure band the average person won't be able to guess.  Anyway here's some song lyrics I really like.

"the place where I come from is a small town
they think so small
they use small words
-but not me
I'm smarter than that
I worked it out
I've been stretching my mouth
to let those big words come right out"

You know I hate to disappoint
A masochistic lamb to slaughter
I think maybe you miss the point

"Queen and country safe and sound
the villans six feet underground
and no one knows
cause no ones found any trace
of a man for all seasons
loves them and leaves them alone,
so alone.
And you and i wouldn't have a clue
who's doing what, why when and who
up the creek with no canoe
watch out for the man for all seasons
loves them and leaves them alone
so alone"

I love this song. Some of you guys would know it too.

Garbage - Milk

My turn...

"How does it feel to treat me like you do?
When you've laid your hands upon me
And told me who you are
I thought I was mistaken
I thought I heard your words
Tell me, how do I feel?
Tell me now, How do I feel?"

It's a classic, as in not ridiculously obscure. One facet of this game is that it is pointless to quote the most obscure underground band you could find, because it ruins the point, and the only 'cred' you get is a result is that you're a certified dork (not saying anyone has done this so far).

BTW: You've got answer them before you post your own! Otherwise, it just doesn't work.

Blue Monday.

I don't remember who did it originally but Orgy remade it a few years ago.

That's Blue Monday ~ Orgy

My Turn...

"How you turned my world, you precious thing
You starve and near exhaust me
Everything I've done, I've done for you
I move the stars for no one
You've run so long
You've run so far
Your eyes can be so cruel
Just as I can be so cruel
Though I do believe in you
Yes I do
Live without the sunlight
Love without your heartbeat"

Anybody know that?
