The Endgame is good in a "this is terrible but i have no idea what they're doing with this" kind of way. It's not highbrow, its not well written, several of the characters have absolutely no identity beyond servicing the plot and some key things have no reason to happen except they do. I dont know where its going but i'm enjoying hate-watching this.

I was screwed over, not by the game but by the string of bad weather that stranded me in the Netherlands unable to keep up with the game - my phone had a meltdown half way through going there.

Well done everybody.

In. Lets see how this goes.

I quite liked Eternals for its completely different visual design. I'm 99% sure its critical dislike comes from the fact that its so different rather than anything specific to do with the movie itself - which lends perfectly to why WandaVision's unique look is so well liked over any of the following D+ shows.

The valet was by far my favourite character for bringing a completely warm and humble attitude to these characters.

I'm more interested in where this goes next and where we're going in this story, but i hope Marvel Studios takes the opportunity to keep swinging for something different.

However, Disney and other studios are fast developing an issue what i call "gay on paper" where they make a LGBT character that, when you delete one sentence or scene, they stop being LGBT at all and has no bearing upon the rest of the story in any way - like it never existed except on notes on the side of a script. Jungle Cruise also did this earlier this year. Big points though for pairing a black american with a lebanese guy, because the *other* issue is how non-white pairings is almost never seen in mainstream media. Given that Sersi and Ikaris get to play out their love story over the centuries and we get that one scene, it feels like Endgame levels of barely trying.

Dune - A visually gorgeous movie. I dont understand how some was confused by this storyline as it was both relatively easy to follow and with a budget to match. Directly sets up a sequel too I dont know if this is directly in the book, but two warring mostly-white tribes fighting over a planet of mostly POC locals with a white chosen one isn't really comfortable - i wish they changed the casting to avoid this

The French Dispatch - I never know what to make of Wes Anderson movies but, for me, i think i cracked it. Don't *watch* his movies, but look at them. Everything down the music and actors movements are perfectly in sync in such a way that even if you dont pay attention to the plot there is things to soak in. I wouldnt call this a movie but rather choreographed art.

I've found that I'm often thinking about the controls a bit too much.  For some reason, I have to remember which shoulder buttons do what and keep track of which ones I'm holding in case I need to aim, and then move.  This is almost certainly a "me problem", however.  There are shortcomings with the controls though.  It's like the game wants Samus to be agile and quick-moving but she's still grounded in that more tanky style from Super Metroid.

I have the exact same "me problem" as this, except I think it gives me more Other M styles of bringing momentum to a juddering halt (fortunately not as extreme!).

Also, i somehow managed to sequence break, but not the good kind, myself into a corner. I managed to travel to the world after Cataris without any upgrades, but couldnt go back as i was stuck behind a thermal door forcing a load of my last save. Well done me!

I've only just started it last night and while my opinions haven't come together i'm with nickmitch with the bad aiming,  but i'm wondering if its the game or not. On my pro controller, if you try to aim and don't push the stick as far as possible in each direction it treats each direction as almost 90 degree angles so you end up aiming directly at the ceiling, straight down or straight left or right instead.

007 No Time To Die: A decent send off to Daniel Craig, but that ending drew a lot of questions M says this will cause an international incident, and possibly a war, with a British ship firing missiles in an island in an area disputed between the Russians and Japanese, but they fire away and the movie completely skips over any potential fallout of that to give Bond a eulogy.

The movie also had too many secondary characters to service in this plot. Paloma only appears for one scene and and is never mentioned again - you could have cut her out entirely and have a no-name extra silently deliver the suit and Bond does everything himself, and the movie would carry on as normal.

Nomi was off-screen for bits doing things that we dont see or hear about, and for most of the final act M, Q and Moneypenny are all in one room together talking at a screen

I was really expecting a David Tennant's 10 Doctor style "i dont wanna go" but that didnt happen either. His final line was "i know". Underwhelming exit.

To wrap up his era this was completely fine, but this was no Skyfall either.

Also, it's hilarious that Judi Dench has been in more 007 movies than than any other lead. This franchise ultimately belongs to her, and i hope she comes back a third time.

I was excited for Foundation (not having read the books) when Jonah Nolan was attached to it after Person of Interest. Now its David S Goyer attached which makes me... less so.

The US ban on EU/UK residents is still standing (if a non-US resident have been to EU/UK in the past 14 days you cannot go to the US) and it looks like it's going to stick around to 2022. Ignoring all the politics, its fairly clear that they simply dont want to change anything right now (right now being all of 2021) for vague unspecified reasons.

They've completely flubbed *that* part, but because it affects everyone else they dont care about the negative attention it draws either.

Shang Chi - This was a fun introduction, though the CGI in the third act (i saw it in 2D) was visually worse than previous not-Avengers movies. The Winter Soldier is still the best one in terms of hiding the CGI - like the entire rooftop chase scene.

I saw a comparison that said this movie was The Lego Movie of videogames... I think that's pretty spot on comparison. Plenty to love in here for gamers as they reference all sorts of things from games. Entertaining pretty much the whole way through, and funny too.

I don't want to spoil anything, but some of the references towards the end were great.
Saw this in the theater, and even though there weren't many of us in there, you could hear the reactions. Definitely worth the watch, hopefully it does well at the box office as well.

Towards the end the movie goes maximum disney and just lands it.

I've never seen Lil Rel Howery in anything else before, but at first he gives off "short and loud Kevin Hart" until the scene when he refuses to put the glasses on and starts to prove himself very quickly then. Also, this is the first time ive seen a bromance done as sincerely as Legends of Tomorrow with Nate and Ray.

Absolutely on both points. That (Climax Spoilers - don't look)cameo at the end, when he used the Shield, and then the HULK arm (might've even triggered that Avengers theme song for a split second) the audience got all excited. Ryan Reynolds definitely was leaning into his MCU connections for that. (/Climax Spoilers)

As for Lil Rey Howery, he was that security guard friend from Get Out (and I know you've seen that....), but I bet you've seen him in something else as well. Here's his IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2577076/

Get Out was 2017 so i had forgotten altogether... but thats the only film ive seen Lil Rel in.

The Suicide Squad - Idris Elba and Viola Davis together is not something i realised i needed, but after THAT scene and its the only one they physically have together i need those two together in literally anything else. The chemistry is electric.

The Tomorrow War - I'm only half way through that movie but the time travel rules make no sense to me. If they can only jump so far into the future, and that "time only flows in one direction like a river" and they need to build two time beacons to facilitate jumping back and forth, then how did they do that? How did they go back in time to start with?

The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard - I'm still mad at the first movie for having such an amazing trailer and such an average movie..... this one continues that trend somewhat.

Selma Hayek was great, however, and was worth all the extra attention. You could tell she was completely up for the nonsense.

https://youtu.be/F4Afusxc2SM this is still just great.

That’s standard for shows. Producers will limit budgets of mid-season episodes if they need to reallocate that money for the finale. Those are typically bottle episodes like “Fly” in Breaking Bad. They needed more money to pull off blowing up half of Gus Fring’s face. Castlevania has been popular enough for Netflix to renew past their normal two or three seasons so maybe later seasons will have more consistent animation quality throughout.

It's pretty normal in TV production, but in Castlevania this spreads across every episode. Certain scenes are animated properly (nearly every one in the trailer) while the others, virtually everything outside of an action scene, are done as bare bones as possible. I can't unsee it now.

21
Season 2 was my favorite. Season 3 was good but weird. The animation in the trailer is simply *chef’s kiss*

This is still my overall concern because the animation on the show can be split between "we spent money here" and "we didn't spend money here". Particularly around walking scenes when they just move the joints and wobble the models to simulate walking. Everything in the trailer was fluid and moving..... did they fix it? or did they just use the well animated bits in the trailer?

For all the issues Batwoman has (the first half of Season 2 was extremely heavy on the "i'm black and in america" angle), Rachel Skasten who plays Alice is absolutely perfect casting in the Arrowverse. She alone saves the show as far as im concerned.

Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer and Caity Lotz as Sara Lance are the other three.

Tom Clancy's Without Remorse (Amazon) - This movie was very average and cliched in spots the casting definitely didnt help either but Michael B Jordan did his absolute best to hold the whole film together through energy alone.

MBJ seemed tense and on edge the whole way through this movie, but in both Creed's and Black Panther he was far more relaxed and at ease. I'm wondering if thats a acting choice or if he just feels more comfortable working with Ryan Coogler.

24
So John Walker kills a man in an international country, which should be a MASSIVE diplomatic incident (the Black Panther storyline through Civil War and BP1)... not to mention all the bad social media presence that would cause. We saw the Dora Milaje track down Zemo and explicitly say "we have jurisdiction where we say we have it".... but John just walked off after episode 6 like nobody noticed him or knew who he was.

That stuck out a lot to me.

That deal seems to be US only. So much like with the Warner Bros content on HBO Max, all of which is releasing as a premium £15/$20 rental here, it will get left aside.
