Gleeks go wild in 3D, Master Higgins goes on a second super adventure and hamsters go crazy in today's update.

Today's Nintendo Downloads update offers a nice variety of games across all the services.

Nintendo Video offers two new 3D videos for players. The first is Next Level: Hugs!, a show dedicated to executing normal tasks in the most outrageous ways possibles. The second video is a trailer for the new concert 3D movie: Glee 3D, based on the hit Fox musical television show.

The eShop receives one Game Boy game today: Jaleco's Avenging Spirit, originally released in 1992. Its mechanics lie on the possession and control of other characters to achieve various tasks across the game world.

Three games were also added to both DSiWare and the eShop for the DS and 3DS, respectively. First up is Tanukii Studios's Go! Go! Kokopolo, a game in which players annoy other characters, forcing them to chase you around the maze. It is available for $7.99.

Second is My Asian Farm from BiP Media. Similar to My Australian Farm, the concept is to raise various exotic animals such as elephants and monkeys. The price of download is $1.99.

The third and final game for DSiWare and eShop is Crazy Hamsters from Gamelion. For $1.99, players can play as a cute hamster in a platforming adventure.

Virtual Console returns to Wii with Hudson Soft's Adventure Island II for the Super NES. The sequel has Master Higgins once again searching for his true love after being separated. This time, though, gameplay is more RPG focused, heavy on exploration, conversation with other characters and items. It is available for 800 Wii Points ($8).

The final game for the week is Kyotokei from Microforum. The 500 Wii Point ($5) title is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up for up two players as they control two magical siblings Kyo and Kei.

In addition to the regular updates, Nintendo reminded players that the Ambassador program ends today. Those that bought the 3DS prior to the announced price drop can receive up to ten free games if they sign onto the eShop before the end of today.

Kill me. Instead of making a simple YouTube flash application or something, Nintendo wastes their time making a stupid service with stupid videos with a stupid concept. Talk about LET DOWN.

It was Super Adventure Island II released today, not Adventure Island II (separate games).

The battery runs out fast enough. Adding Flash support would make it run down so fast you could hear it. Google / YouTube need to get on making a stand alone 3DS client. Hell, Netflix did it. YouTube re-encodes videos to H.264 MP4, so no Flash would be required. Just support in the 3DS, which seems to be a mystery.

Glee is a good show, not sure why some people hate on it.

Gleek is a tongue in cheek term, like how Lady Gaga fans call themselves Little Monsters.

Season 2 got a little offtrack, I will admit that. Ryan Murphy has promised to re-focus the show, even promising that season 3 will have no guest stars (though I will miss Kristin Chenoweth as April Rhodes).

I know, I've watched a couple of episodes and have really enjoyed it.

I think it gets such a bad rap is because it is aimed at a younger audience, it tends to get wrapped up too tightly by its sentimentality, it features a lot of auto-tuned covers of to 40 hits and it is MEGA POPULAR.

That, and often the characters tend to be more one dimensional than they need to be. Sometimes they try to create pathos by giving us these really complex characters who at first appear to be stereotypes but instead are multi-layered. Then the next they are eating the stereotype up.

It tends to be very uneven, and that bothers people a lot.

Oh yes, they also did a cover of Friday, like a few weeks after it went viral.

The only character I even think they did well was the gay guy.

That's Kurt. I think they did a good job expanding and giving depth to several of the characters like Brittney, Santana, and Arty. And Sue Sylvester is one of the best characters on TV right now.

I'd say you guys are off topic, but this Glee discussion sadly is pertinent to discussion of this week's downloads. *sigh*

Avenging Spirit is kind of cool. It's like Geist meets platforming, as you can possess basically any enemy and they all control differently.

I'm going to get that crazy cat-scratching game as soon as I beat Mario's Picross. I've got about 10 puzzles left.
