I laugh at all the Ubi Haterz. See? there's a good company under all those ponyz games.

Well compared to THQ and their embarrassing statement the other day, Ubisoft looks amazing when it comes to Wii support.

What did THQ say the other day? I'm curious.

It's too bad that Deadly Creatures sold poorly.

Here is a link to their statement:

http://www.industrygamers.com/news/wii-is-a-nightmare-for-third-parties-says-thq-exec/

Quote
...then the nightmare of all for third parties, frankly, is the Wii. The Wii is a Monopoly box in a closet! I've got my Wii Sports and I'm good! I take it out, get the family around, we flail around for a couple hours, and we're happy until next month when we take it out, or maybe for junior's birthday, I'm going to buy him a Mario game." - Danny Bilson, SVP of creative development at THQ

Quote
"(We plan to) greenlight more Wii games: family, casual, get everyone on the couch games. I'm a big believer in that. Right now, we're not moving hardcore stuff to the Wii. We were; we stopped it, just because we're a little risk averse. I want to be with the culture of the Monopoly box in the closet – I've got to feed them. I've got to get them to want to buy another game, because they're not the gamers that are looking forward to the next thing next week in putting in the pre-orders and all that."

It was the best of the three launch window FPS games in my experience. *shrug* Sure, horrible graphics, but it was quite worthy in an oldschool play-for-fun FPS sort of way.

Sad to see THQ shy away like that. But then again, this was evident since it turns out they canceled a Wii red faction project (if I remember that news right). And in truth, no one knew Deadly Creatures had come out, which is sad. The media just weren't there to give the game coverage, or the PR wasn't there to thrust the game in the media's face, come release. It's a  familiar story, unfortunately.

Ouch. At least de Blob sold well.

Did they even market Deadly Creatures outside of IGN?

I'm optimistic that Ubi won't send RS2 out to die. They don't advertise their localizations that much (NMH, Tenchu), but that may be because they choose not to get behind games that they've got a smaller stake in.

Tenchu sales were a tragedy. That game deserved better sales. I really think a sequel with M+ would be awesome.

Was Tenchu any good?  I don't even remember what the reviews said.  Did it control any better than the wonky tank controls in the original?

I loved it. Good music, engaging controls. The graphics were a little wonky at times but it still looked nice.

IGN gave it a solid 8
NWR has not reviewed it.

I'd get it. It's pretty cheap in places like Amazon now.

So I finally got to watch the 13 min walkthrough.Saw it over on Kombo. Takes way to long to load on IGN.

I really like the look of the game. It looks to control great.Motion+ works great from what I saw.

Man that boss fight looks crazy.

Here's a Pro Daisy tip for everyone:  Instead of waiting for a stream on IGN, just view the page source, find the high quality .FLV file link, and enter that into your browser to save the video and suck their bandwidth dry, and I mean 400KB/sec+.  It'll cost IGN more money, and you'll get your movie faster.  The FLV file can be played in a variety of third party software like Media Player Classic (w/ ffdshow).

This workaround also bypasses the age verifcation thingo and any video ad they stick in between.

I just refresh the page to bypass the ads. And I can enter my age faster than I could look through the source code for the FLV file. I'm just saying I don't have any issue of the videos loading and I would think if the movies load slowly through their Flash player, they'll still load slowly by DLing directly. When I do have issues, I just pause the film and come back to it later, its still loading in the background.

My only concern with this title is what happens to the enemies after they are killed. I don't mind them dissapearing, but do that have to do it like an old Streets of Rage game? It looks way to tacky, other than that it looks awesome.

Oh yeah and when the nija guy stabs the bad guy, it didn't look like anything. Even something Soul Caliburish or zelda like would have been better than no type of animation around the stab wound. You know like the blue or red electricity type wounds?

Still great though.
