Nice job on sizing the patties - I hate it when someone cooks burgers, and shapes the patties to the size of the bun, before cooking. Then they throw it on the grill and burn the **** out of it, and it's like a piece of charcoal that takes up a small part of the center of the bun. Always make them about a half inch wider than the bun, all around, nice and thick too, and make that **** medium rare - medium at the most! Anything more than that and you're defeating the purpose of eating beef. Also, get lean beef. It tastes better, is better for you, is less likely to give you cancer after many years of grilling (the smoke you inhale from fat burning on charcoal, etc. is a carcinogen), and it doesn't shrink as much as regular beef.
