Nintendo Gaming / GTA: Would it sell?

Heh, Postal was a fun little game for it's time. It got banned here in Australia after about a month =P
I did enjoy the little Christmas patch they released for 1997, you got to slaughter Santa. Pointless stress remover!

Nintendo Gaming / New Zelda Look

OMFG WHAT HAVE N1NTENDO DONE 2 tEH LINK!!!111 LOKKS LIKE KID FUKK THEm!!! LOL!!1

Personally, I very much like this style of Link. It's kind of like a return to his Zelda 3 look on SNES, which is very nice indeed.
To me, it feels like Nintendo have designed this with the hardcore Zelda fans in mind, the ones that grew up with his adventures.

I could care less that he looks like a 'carbear' or a 'telletubby' as you put it. The art direction is beyond fantastic, seeing this in motion melts my eyes.
The adventure's still there, the challenge is still there, the ability to cut bushes is still there. That's enough!

AniMatrix rocks hard. Being on dial up, there was no way in hell I could get it, but lucky I have cable friends =D
The animations not quite up to what I expecting though, it's nice, but still not as fluid as I would have thought.

23GB? Yikes.... Wouldn't like to scratch one of them. Hell, the Dreamcast's GB discs almost exploded when they gained a mere smudge.

Imagine what the like of Square will do with 23 GB?

Greeted with two hour intro. Take one step foward, random battle, 40 minute video clip, next step, meet new character, watch hour long video. Throw game in bin.

I smell the likes of 3DO games! *Runs for dear life*

Actually, I had a deep love for Piotwings 64. Like, Stewpot, I had a scary amount of fun just flying around the (at the time) giant landscapes, ducking under bridges, you know... All that fancy-pants stuff.
I'd love to see a new one, but for now, Sky Oddessy on PS2 will do.

Actually, the final purpose of The Getaway is to unlock the free roam mode, which is just what GTA offers from the start. The Getaway is an excellent example of what happens when you take too long to develop a game. You get an outdated game with terrible graphics. If it were released when it was due (Feb, 01), it would have been the biggest thing since... Godzilla.. Or.. Maybe.. Something bigger.

.... Off-Topic (As if that last part wasn't), Joey Joe Joe, your screen name ROCKS

Homer: Hey Moe
Moe: Yeah?
Homer: You see, I got this friend.. Uh, Joey Joe Joe... Shabadoo?
Moe: That's the worst name I've ever heard.
*Man runs out crying*
Barney: Joey Joe Joe, come back!

*Looks up at body*

Dammit Termin8, you know how long it takes to put your eyes back in?

Welp, I got type of 'funky' news as you would. It's coming from a close friend, so I'm pretty sure he's not speaking bullshit. Anyway, according to him, EB World in Parramatta are selling the Action Replay for GameCube. $89.95
Why is this funky? The AC includes the Freeloader built in. THAT, my friends, means easy access to the likes of Animal Crossing! lik-sang.com offers AC for around $79.95 AUD, pretty sure that includes postage too. But I'll check up on it later... FRIENDS IS ON!

Eh, it was okay. I spose. But if I wanna get in the Nintendo mood, I'll listen to the Mario Sunshine OST or something =D
Thanks for sharing anyway, I'm sure somebody will wet themselves over this!

You know, if you sat down and spent time with GTA III/Vice City, you would discover there's more to it than simply hacking into people with blades or shooting them whilst down. This is what the media would have you believe the game is, a simple game with no gameplay that mutates todays youth into killing machines.

It has depth. Alot of it.
Saying GTA is all about killing people for fun is the same as saying GoldenEye was all about pumping round after round into people as they fell lifeless to the ground, which is not true.
The gameplay is right up there with the best. People just don't give it a real chance and label it a gore game for casual gamers. Sure, that's what the majority of casual gamers bought it for, to shoot old people and such. But it offers a severe challenge to the let's say, 'real' gamer.

The amount of varied missions is just plain mind blowing, from stealing a sea plane to drop junk mail all over the city (Which actually stays around for the rest of the game) to jumping from roof to to rooftop via a moterbike in order to tilt a light to display advertising for a porno film. There's much more than originally meets the eye.

I believe the GTA series would make a great addition to the CG library, and those who refuse to play it due to what the media tells them, and the fact that it's popular with casual gamers are missing out on one of the greatest 3D games this generation has to offer.

The contract runs out at the end of 2004. So even so, you wouldn't see a GTA game on GameCube till late 2005. Also, unless it was exclusive, it wouldn't shift units. It would sell, yes, but it wouldn't cause any casual gamers to get excited in GC if they can play it on their PS2, Xbox or download (boo!) a copy for PC.

ohwell, was a waste of money to who ever paid =\

=D
Yeah, I remember when Pokemon Blue/Red were the latest thing, people were selling the ROMs on a floppy disk complete with the emulator (most likely the worst one out there at the time, yeah, I'm looking at you GBE$$!)
Idiots paid money for em' too.

Nintendo Gaming / Animal Crossing, what's soo good about the game?
« on: March 02, 2003, 11:01:32 AM »
Heh, you could always not get your Sim a job. Ahh, creating a lazy prick and have him play the PC all day. Sounds like me!
The sad part was eventually he got too depressed from lack of interaction with real people, eventually I got pissed off with him and locked him in a room for four days. He died good.

Hmm, looks like I'll have to check out 'Pain'
And since we're talking about under-rated bands here (Well, I ...think so ^_^), I recommend anything by Mad Capsule Market, sure, they're Japanese, but their combination of styles in their songs is mind-blowing, transistions from grinding techno to death metal to punk. In the blink of an eye!

If only Nintendo didn't hate Europe, I would actually know what all the fuss is about. Hell, I'd get it just for the NES games contained within. Oh well, The Sims on PS2 will have to do.... *Builds house without shower or toilet*

Yeah, I've been collecting various Nintendo related rubbish basically my whole existence. From Super Mario Bros. movie action figures (Basing toys off a movie that was based on a game that was based on a landlord, oh the confusion!)

To stickers, posters, collector cards and junk you used to get in Coco Pop boxes/Happy Meals back when the NES was the best thing in the world. I hope they're worth something in the future =D

Before I die from loss of sleep (stayed up all last night watching d/l'ed movies I've never had the time to watch, now it's 12:07 AM, ugh)
I suggest everybody go check out their local Harvey Norman stores. Word on the streets (Well, over at PALGN) is that HN is going to stop stocking GameCube altogether due to sales, and that they're almost giving away what stock they have left.

Some have claimed titles such as ZooCube selling for $14.95.
Looks like I'll need to take an endless walk into Havey Norman, Blacktown. ... Monday, that is. I'm almost asleep as we speak o_O

*sigh*
They've lost all credibility because you don't agree with them? That makes no sense, at all.
Also, Splinter Cell introduced a whole new level of interactive environments. Shooting holes in fish tanks, watching the glass crack at all the right spots, watching them grow larger and larger until it burst, spraying water all over the carpet, soaking INTO the carpet to create a mushy sound when you tred on it, this game had great attention to detail.. I'm not saying it should have won for this reason, but it's got alot more than meets the eye (cue Transformers theme)

Anyway, if it were up to me, Eternal Darkness or Sly Cooper would have won game of the year. See, everybody has different opinions..

Wow, that's just plain insane. Both the amount of releases, and that you had the time to compile this list. Nice work!
Oh yeah, both WakeBoarding and Haven have both been officially cancelled.

Damn, it'd be a retailers nightmare if all these games actually do stay on their March release dates! =D

Nintendo Gaming / Sega was rumored to be bought by Nintendo?
« on: February 28, 2003, 12:38:59 AM »
But I read in a bikini catalogue today that Big W plan on buying Sega! It said they'll buy them out for 60 cents and a button, and Sega will either agree or eat cake by Monday. Gee, I hope they eat cake! Chocolate cake!
Then the men from Channel 9 will come along and go "Hey kid, you like telephones?" and I'll go "I ated the purple berry!"

C'mon, it's a bikini catalogue, it's gotta be true! They were the ones that said Beta would crush VHS! Hey, wait....

The new Konami logo is a disaster. How could they have gotten rid of the odd, yet funky, red and orange 'thing'?
And what about the classic Konami jingle that plays when the logo rolled out on screen?

Screw MGS, I want the old Konami logo back!

Nintendo Gaming / My mom is going to steal my Gamecube.
« on: February 27, 2003, 10:20:57 PM »
My Mum used to be into video games (as was my Dad), infact, they had an Atari 2600 with quite a few games. That's how I was introuced to gaming.

Since my love, they've grown to hate them. My Mum tried playing Mario All-Stars way back in 1993, kept falling in the first hole in SMB and called the game a heap of rubbish.
And that's the end of that story =P
