I was at gamecubenetwork.com a few days ago and they had a news topic stating that a japanese gaming mag named gamelabo reported hearin a rumor that nintendo has acquired to major developers.  It then goes on to say that the mag is somewhat credible with some of its predictions on the past.  Visit the site and see the complete post which was posted at 6-17 so if it aint showin up in the main page just go through the archive.  I dont know if there was already a post in this forum made on this but I dont remember seein any.  What do you people think bout this rumor?  Hopefully rick or anyone has heard somethin and can shed a lil light on the issue.  I for one hope its true and if it is, I wouldnt be suprised if capcom was on of the major developers.  As for the second major developer I have no idea, maybe namco lol.  Nintendo has let capcom and namco both work on their own franchises like star fox and zelda, maybe they been lettin them get the feel for workin under nintendo's wing lol.   Its all wishful thinkin but I can always dream.  Hopefully the rumor turns out true.

backwards compatibility is the only way to go.  For the consumers who already own a gamecube it'll make them feel as if there money went well spent since they can still use their games and play them without the hassle of changing systems.  I think its also important to have becuase for nintendo's next generation system, they have to meet and one up every option the other systems are goin to have.  There cant be any openings where the average gamer/fanboy can lock onto and b*tch and mown about like "gamecube discs are too small, they dont have a hard drive... xbox is way better blah blah blah"  I think for the gamecube to compete in the mainstreme they are goin to have to level the feild and let it come down to the games, better advertising and diversifing thier lineup is another thing they have to do.

I would wish it killed of xbox.  I currently own all the systems and have bought almost every major system since back durin the snes/genesis era.  The xbox has by far gathered the most dust out of all the systems.  I'll go so far as to say that my nintendo 64 gets more play time then my xbox.  I'm not biased or anything but whenever I go out to the store to buy a game, there is nothing on the xbox's library that even catches my eye.  What really kills me is that the xbox is gettin so much props from the average consumer when in reallity it doesnt deserve most of it.  All in all, I doubt the new bundle will kill the xbox, the xbox seems to be here to stay regardless if it trully deserves to be or not.   The xbox is basically a stripped down pc and it'll be more fittin for the system to be tagged with an alienware logo as aposed to the X since it looks like a prototype alienware gaming setup.  Sorry in advance to any xbox fans readin this, I'm just lettin out steam from bein burned by microsoft.

sounds good, never got to play the first game but heard it was hot and it looked good from the pics I saw back in the days.  Hope they show some screenshots.

they probably not showin it cuase the game could still be in the early developement stages (which I doubt since there were already some nice lookin screenshots floatin around but you never know given how enix takes yrs to get their dq games done) or they'r still undecided on weather or not they are goin to release it outside of japan.  There's no point in them showin dragonquest at E3 if us Americans will never have it.  They'll prob showcase it at a japanese convention somewhere down the line.
