And because Sony's different divisions can't communicate at all, they'll be multiplatform!

I just enjoy the irony.

I wonder if the fairer-then-usual price has anything to do with the trip Iwata took to Australia a few monthes back.

This is the end for the cube. There is nothing left coming that's not made by nintendo, or going somehwere else worth getting. All nintendo has left is Zelda, I was previously against moving it to revolution, but now I'm all for it. Nintendo should concede defeat this time around and start working on the revolution campaign and getting third parties into legally binding
agreements from third parties.

I disagree. Nintendo themselves has been on quite a role this year. They got Pikmin 2, Donkey Konga, Paper Mario 2, Metroid Prime Echoes, and Mario Tennis all in the space of 4 monthes. Mario Party 6, DK: Jungle Beat, and Star Fox are all set to come out soon in 2005, too.

Granted, none of these big exclusives titles are third party. I'd say that's disapointing, but I wouldn't go as far to say they're doomed. They have a big niche which they've gotten rather good at supporting by themselves. That niche will probably keep them going a LOOOOONG time.

They're a lot like Macintosh in that way. Of course, fanboys want them to be more like Microsoft.

Hopefully the diehard RE fans understand that the PS2 version will be utter cr@p compared to the GCN version, and in turn of what Capcom has done I hope their sales on the PS2 version goes as well as their Viewitiful Joe game on PS2.

Most diehard RE fans already own Cubes for the REmake and Zero

Anyways, I was expecting this. Capcom loves to port Resident Evil.

Should be interesting to see how this pans out. A year is a long time, so I don't think this is as doom and gloom as some of you think.

It could be worse. 4kids could be doing it.

At least Square is in charge of the games.

Hey does anyone know if the U.S.A has good game development studios? and where? and how well does the U.S.A compare to Canada's game developers?

Are you joking? I'm surprised someone who wants to go into games even asked that.

Heh. They were at my school (AI-Burnaby) yesterday, crashing EA's owns recruitment drive. Made my day.

I'd like to work for Ubisoft when I'm done with my education. Montreal is so low on art talent, that getting a job their is a good start for someone like me trying to break into the industry...

I'll be at VFS tomorrow on the PoP presentation. Free beer! Should be awesome! I'll tell you guys about it.

Has anyone actually read the magazine? And it is the April issue, isn't it? I think it might be fake, for these reasons...

Quote

I've concluded that the Multiplayer shot is more than possibly fake. After analyzing it enough...

Unless there are more than four players in the game there, it must be fake.

The shot shows two staring at each other on the right and two that are in ball mode on the left. Where is the guy that is in the upper left shot at? What is he looking at? If there's only one in the ball mode, where is the bottom left's gun at? And why are all the radar locations basically the same? The one in the bottom right's location for the other guys would be a bit lower...

It could be true...but that shot looks very suspicously fake...

Blah.

Nothing's going to happen. These are the same guys who licensed Metroid, and didn't do anything with it.

Aye. I don't think anyone was expecting this much demand for the GC.

The good news is Nintendo has a ton of demand.

The bad news is that they're sales are going to drop really low until the GC supply is renewed. If you check this monthes sales chart, I bet big N has dropped to third again.

Sort of a double-edged sword. It turns out halting GC production was a bad idea.

Well, I finally figured out what IGN was hyping about.

Quote

Capcom Entertainment yesterday announced that it premiered the first-ever playable version of the highly anticipated survival horror sequel Resident Evil 4 on January 28 in Las Vegas. Though IGN was on-hand for the presentation, non-disclosure agreements prevent us from revealing details about the game until a later date specified in advance by the publisher.

NDS agreements on gameplay? WTF did Capcom do to RE? It damn well better be good.

Dope. I was using the example that the Xbox versions of KoTOR and Splinter Cell sold best on the Xbox because it was their first. Does everything need to be Nintendo related to make sense to you?

And despite KoTOR being a much better version on PC, the sales figures don't relfect that.

I hardly care about Killer 7 being exclusive. Really, I don't. "We're" getting it first, probably with better visuals. It will probably sell better on the Cube, too (Examples? KoToR and Splinter Cell). They only thing "we" loose is bragging rights.

To be honest, I'm more worried about it sucking. If that happens, "we" have nothing.

A little update, regarding both Metroid and IGN...

If this is Metroid related, they just upped the embargo to 3:30 PM PST tomorrow. If it is not Metroid related, which I beginning think that it is not, then..well..I have no idea.

Where is this Capcom stuff coming from? Matt doesn't mention them in the post you quoted. We probably shouldn't be too excited though since the PS2 guy is talking about it which suggests it's not exclusive. I mean a good multiplatform game is still great but it's not going to sell any Cubes.

The Capcom part was posted by Mary Jane (another Gamecube editor), who said this was all "reference to a recent Capcom teleconference" or something along those lines. I can't get into the Insider forums to comfirm she said that, and I'll have to wait until Sunday until I can bum my friends account again.

Also, this was all posted in the IGN Gamecube forums. So most of this is all Nintendo related, most likely.

According to someone I know who was stretching the NDS more then he should. Apparently, there was a Metroid Zero Mission telecon last Tuesaday evening... and it Metroid Prime 2 info. Only a few tidbits from him...

There was not a TON of MP2 info disclosed, but there was some, which will be mentioned.

There's also some super hyping going down at IGN forums by the editors right now. About Capcom (not sure about this one, yet), apparently.

Lordy!

Lordy, I say!

NDAs have my tongue. But whoa! Whoa, I say! Holy crap!

Please discuss.

P.S. I apologize in advance. E3 2004 will be happy and warm.

I can vouch for this. I too have seen something and Matt isn't even close to giving it enough credit. Best ever? Maybe,

Either way, it's going to be my most wanted rather soon.

So... yeah. The guy talking about MP2 is a fairly reliable source. Not sure about IGN, though

THe sprite is big because I resized it. Like I said, it's for a sprite comic.

And I'm not about to animate it... Those ones took me long enough.

"someone from Soul Calibur 2?"

Yes! It's a Soul Calibur 2 character. This should be easy now...

(it's not Nightmare.)

Nope.

New hint: Not a Nintendo franchise.

Yes, it is.

Another hint: The character has a flapping piece of frabric that I neglected to draw.

Get your mind out of Sci-Fi, and more into fantasy. And ignore the lightsaber, too; it's not part of the costume of the character.
