Game Mode #1: Tap RunnerThe mode we have been watching so much of in the previous videos. Tap Runner is a racing mini-game where the goal is obviously to reach the finish. There are many different kinds of obstacles in each race that require different rhythms of tapping to overcome. These include hurdles, swinging wires, giant balloons and tightropes. The game supports up the four players on a single screen; if racers start to get far apart, the camera zooms out to compensate but also gives a hologram of the stickperson so you can see their progress more easily.
Game Mode #2: Rhythm TapThis is a music-based game where, as the name suggests, you must tap to the beat of the song. There are 20 tracks in total on offer and from what we have heard so far, the soundtrack of this whole game will be very funky and catchy. Not only is good timing needed, but also you have to be able to tap with the right amount of force. Blue circles want light tips, green circles mean medium taps and orange circles ask for hard taps. Again, it has four player multiplayer, with each player tapping out different notes in the song.
Game Mode #3: Silent BlocksSilent Blocks is the more puzzle-oriented game of the selection. A key sits at the top of a tall tower of precarious blocks. Using careful tapping, you choose which block you want to get rid of and then remove it with care. The aim to acquire the key, but you also want to get high scores by stringing together colour combos, or 'Alchemy' as it is called. Four players can compete in this game in a race to collect the key from their tower peak first.
Game Mode#4: Bubble VoyagerIn this game, you take control of the Bubble Voyager, who's mission it to complete the levels by avoiding debris and enemies. Tapping will boost you upwards and you may also give more vicious taps to fire missiles. Points are gained for taking as little damage as possible and making a good landing at the end of a stage. The multiplayer portion of this game is quite different - it is a free-for-all battle royale where each player has a Bubble Voyager and has to destory their opponents with rockets.
Game Mode #5: VisualizerWith this mode, there are several sub-modes in which the player taps in various ways to create aesthetic things on screen. Visualizer contains an art canvas, an aquarium, a colourful minigame with marbles and a fireworks show creator.
It's out in Japan on the 18th of December. I'm extremely tempted to import it right now.
