Certainly I did say that, but what happened, happened.  We're both here now, regardless of how we got here.  A chicken could stand on the right D-Pad and cluck the A button randomly for 45 minutes, but as long as he's on World 8-4, he has just as good of a chance of winning as anyone else.

So now it's time to play the final leg of this game.  What's happened before today is irrelevant if it means you still have to win by popular demand.  It's nonsense is what it is.

Oh! Oh! I thought of another. So, you're a chicken?

How about this? "What's happened before today is irrelevant if it means you still have to win by popular demand." How is it any less irrelevant than someone who hardly plays shows up on the last day and changes everything? Completely tips the balance of power. Makes all the other days before irrelevant. Fortunately, that is not and will not be the case.

Naw, that's no good. How can I spice it up a bit? I know. You snooze, you lose. The early bird gets the worm. Slow and steady wins the race.

Nope. Too cliched. There's got to be a good line there somewhere.
