Super Mario Kart Mafia. Day 6. Waluigi Pinball.
« on: June 27, 2009, 12:56:54 AM »
Funky Kong's blog Day 6.

Well, after the wackiness that was Icicle Mountain, it feels strange to be back in the Mario Kart. But it doesn't take me long to get re-adjusted as we enter one of the best courses of all time. I love this course. The neon lights and action get my heart pumping everytime I come here. Pure spectacle and awesome curves. A true winner and definitely a top ten course. Now, we are starting to get into the heart of the competition.

Bad news about Peach. Appearently, her and Daisy got into a bit of a cat fight so Daisy loosened the suspension on her bike. When Peach got to the top of the Icicle Mountain, instead of roaring over the top, her bike fell apart and she just dropped down to the ocean below where a giant fish swallowed her up. Or maybe I'm thinking of something else. Regardless, they are still searching for her. With the way things are going in this competition, the winner of the race might become the new ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. Now, there would be a sweet prize.

Well, gotta split. They've just called for me to line up at my position to start the race. I can't wait to see what shenanigans happen today. It's Funky Time.

Day 6 will encompass saturday and sunday.

At 5 votes, Daaaaman64 is dead. He was red. A Toyota Prius is no match for DAISY!
Theperm is now dead. He was hit with a red shell. He had a blue shell when he died. He was blue.
Dasmos is now dead. He was killed off when he died. Chances of Green winning went with him.

THE ENDGAME BEGINS!
The blue team is now in danger of losing the game. They cannot lose anyone else if they want to win.
The Green team cannot win in their current state.

Three people are near death.

ITEM USES:
Someone activated their star.
Someone used a red shell.
Someone used a coin on themselves.
Someone used a mystery box.
Someone used a red shell defensively.

I saw that Plugabugz had posted here and I thought he'd have the results and say which team DAaaMan64 was on. I should probably find that out before voting.

Ah whatever.

I hate to bounce in here and post, but I believe it's important information, and it doesn't give any hints away or anything:

The Blue team has lost Stratos and ThePerm.

The Red team has lost DAaaMan and me.

The Green team has lost Maxi and Dasmos.

Eight players remain.  I believe it was stated that the Blue and Red have the same number of players.  If this is true, then the Red can not lose any more players either.

If it's wrong for me to point this out, I'll remove it faster than stevey can remove a vote, but I figure it was just an oversight, and thought I'd help make it aware.

I'm confused.  Yesterday, Daaaman posted this (supposed) PM from Khush:

Quote
Well, now your trust will be rewarded. Thatguy has backstabbed too soon and ruined the Green Team's chance at victory. The worst thing is he 7did it too early and with Green Members still alive. As such, I'd like to try and bring down the Red team as revenge. To do that, the Blue team must unite. With the error in items, you are all looking at inheriting some very valuable firepower as well in your quest. Looks like the tide has turned.

Blue Team:
DrewMG
DAaaMan64
ThePerm
Mop_It_Up

Be wary of Mop_it_up. She knows Thatguy is Red, yet she keeps working with him. She may join her actual team. She may not. Your only other hope will be that the remaining Green Players join you in the vote to thwart the Red. With them voting with you, you have a chance.

Best Wishes.

Oh, in case the remaing Green don't want to help out, I have left their identities secret. They can play how they want. But I will let you know that Red does contain Stevey and Thatguy.

As we now know, Daaaman was actually on the red team.  But Daaaman didn't deny the allegations, instead he said Thats why I said thanks, didn't know anyone knew I was on the Blue Team already.

What the heck?  Has anyone changed teams during the course of the game?  Did Daaaman used to be blue but got switched to red?

I sent this to you in a pm but I also want to address it here with everyone, so here goes:

Wait a minute! Hold up! Ok, so before the green team just needed one person to survive. Then we needed two. Finally it got changed to 3. Not only did we need to keep 3 people alive, we also had to eliminate a whole team. But for red or blue to win, they just have to get rid of three people on the other side? Why don't they have to eliminate their rivals? What happens if by tomorrow, a red member is voted out and a blue member dies by items? Now we are 2 v 2 v 2. Who wins?

What happens in a situation where it is 3 red members, 2 green members and 2 blue members. If Blue and Green unite, Red doesn't have a majority. How can they win? I can understand if it was a situation where say it was 3 blue members, a green and a red or some combination where one team has the clear voting majority. But a minority government can be toppled.

I think the whole team winning by reducing half the oppostion should only work if that team never lost a member. It would make sense. 2 v 2 v 5. The five have the majority. Since both teams have been reduced to 3 and 3, shouldn't the game now go on to elimination of a whole side? Townies have to eliminate a whole side to win the game. So are we townies? The mafia just has to establish a tie. So would a 2 v 1 v 1 scenario work since we are mafias?

I think this game should end with at least a clear definitive winner. One group holds a majority over the other groups.

I can understand if it was a situation where say it was 3 blue members, a green and a red or some combination where one team has the clear voting majority.

Even then there's a decent chance that blue could lose if they're not organized.  Since the red and blue players don't know their teammates for sure, they could still lose if a green or red player infiltrated their group.

That's true. Look at Spak-Spang's Paintball game. One team had the majority but lost it due to inactive voting and then manged to eke out the win in the end by smartly killing off the right people.

If we find ourselves in a position where we have an even number of red/blue players that are below the threshold, then the winning team will be determined by counting up all of the alive players points from each team. Whoever has the highest points, wins. That way there is no deciding, and like with ties, the points decide. Green is free to do as they please at this point, as they are unable to win. I am still debating this.

The purpose of "below half" was so that we wouldn't drag out the game too long given the larger qty of players.

I will not edit my previous "suggestion" for preservation sake, but i won't be opting that route i mentioned above.

If for some reason several groups wind up below the threshold all at once, then i will open the game up to eliminating the other team(s) entirely.

Ha ha ha, oh Khushrenada. You are so funny with your crackpot theories you should be a comedian.

I know exactly what you're doing. You're trying to make me look like a traitor.

Called it on Day 4. I didn't make you look like a traitor. You've done that on your own. Also, I wouldn't call pointing out the obvious as being crackpot theories.

That said, I get why you are doing it. However, it is ultimatly pointless. Vote Nickmitch
