Late to the party as usual.  My avatar is is the source of much pain and suffering as it took me 2 months to find the source image.  A cookie if you can guess who it is.

Thanks for your compliment ThePerm. Since I love many of the avatars I do and have I'm always changing them.

I like changing my avatar, too.  In fact, I just changed from a messed up Alf avatar to a new Princess Mononoke one.  I like that movie, and most other movies by that Myazaki fellow (the ones that I have seen were all great).

My favorite avatar I've ever had is either my first one, of GIR from invader Zim rding a pig, or What's-her-face from teen girl squad.  But I like to keep it mixed.

Not Alf!
Oh well, cool current one, KnowsNothing!

Errm, Mario gave me this cool Sonic picture a few days back. Resized it and changed the background colour. Yay, thanks Mario!

I actually HATE Alf, but I thought he'd make a cool avatar. but I didn't like it.  All of the pictures I found of him were horrible, so I had to work with what I had.  Alf scares me.

Sonic is cool, though.

All my avatars come out grainy, though.  Is there a way to fix that, like saving it to a certain format?  Or is there a good program to do it on?

I use Paintshop Pro 7 or something... Dunno, downloaded it off Kazaa ages ago.
I save all my avatars as GIF files in there. JPEGs usually result in blurry, grainy looking stuff thingy. PSP has also got some fancy sharpen feature, that makes stuff look clearer.

Nop.  When I use GIF it comes out even worse.  It has weird white spots on it, like it has a disease.  Alot of formats I save in I can't upload (i use agelfire in case it makes a difference).  Ah well, JPEG does fine, I guess.

I just messed with the colors and brightness on my screen and now my avatar looks a lot darker than I wanted. Is it just my computer? If it isn't I'll change that ASAP.

Oh, and KnowsNothing, I personally believe that GIR is infinitely better that What's Her Face. Which is not to say that I in anyway dislike TGS; they are the best. I just miss Invader Zim so much!

Same here... I want Zim, Rocko, and Angry Beavers back!

But yea, your avatar does look a little dark.  It's fine, though.  Metroid Prime is a pretty dark game anyway (at least on my TV)

As far as avatars go....  I use whatever format will give me the smallest file size without a noticable loss in quality.  My current avatar is an animated one though, so of course I muse use a GIF.  I am about ready for an update though, so I might be changing it again soon.  I am just not really sure what I want to use right now.    Maybe I will go with the flow and use the classic Naruto avatar.

Heh.  You certainly won't be dissapointed with either I'm sure.    But if you would like, I can have words with your parents via email on why they should allow you to download stuff and buy a freaking virus killer.

KnowsNothing your avatar is quite good that it made me remember how good and enjoyful it was to watch Princess Mononoke.

Grey Ninja did you program your avatar to blink in an unorderly time? I actually saw it blink but that was a casual observation before I even read what you wrote saying that it was animated.

heh...  no, the delay on it is just huge.  It's something like 8 seconds.  It was meant to be something subtle that you might not notice consciously, and might make you look and go "WTF!" sometime.  Just a stoner light.

Heh, the first time I saw Ninja's avatar was at around 3:00 AM EST probably a couple days after he put it up.  My eyes already felt like they were bleeding and out of the corner I saw his avatar blink at me.  I thought I was hallucinating

My avatar is a "Dark" version of Kyle Katarn, from Jedi Outcast. I took an original picture of him from a magazine cover, and changed it in photoshop.

I have this other avatar I like to use. It's of a Dragoon from an anime called Scrapped Princess. Actually, it's several images, plugged into a script making it random. Each time you refresh the image, it's different. I'd use it here, but it's 20 pixels too big.

Take a lookie.
