Project Exile

WTF!?!?!

This game...looks like Secret of Mana Sprites against an FF6 background with modern-style anime-talking portraits!

...Did these guys licenses the FF6/SoM engine from Square or something? It really looks almost exactly ripped off of my SNES!

Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Well, it was originally going to be a GBA game so I think that explains enough.

Don't say it looks like a Final Fantasy game, that's implying the game will be terrible.

Not if we say it looks like FF6. That was the last good one, in my humble obviously biased fanboi jaded old-school gamer opinion.

Yeah, I'm digging the look, too. I hope they don't plan on beefing it up too much to take advantage of the DS' better graphical abilities.

Depends on how its done. Dawn of Sorrow leverages the DS's power to do things that would just be impossible otherwise (Menace, anyone?).

I like what I see thus far. The game has a Chrono Trigger style battle system and the art style is reminiscent of FF6. If the game is half as good as it looks it going to be stellar. Given nice the game looks running on GBA, I can't wait to see how they get it up and running on DS. More colors and smoother animation maybe?

Yeah maybe they could add some bitchin' polygons everywhere. I heard a rumour that DS does an excellent job with those.
