A Nintendo Direct is also hitting Japan at the same time as the North American and European ones, which is at 23:00 JST locally.

The presentation, dubbed Nintendo Direct Luigi Special 2, will focus both on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U related content. There will be updates on the Year of Luigi and new information on the Wii U system update. According to Satoru Iwata, the presentation will give new insights for the update, which is scheduled to come next week.  Further specifics weren't given.

I really want to see them talk about the virtual console in this update. The e-shop has been pretty bare as of late, and to me just keeps recycling the same stuff over and over. Can't wait for E3 to get here so we can finally get out of this drought.
