If it's encouraging/discouraging, Sony charges $399.99 for a MP3 player that has 32GB of storage, a 3 inch OLED touch screen, and Wi-Fi.

I was just about to post this.

3G and an OLED touch screen.
I wonder if the touch pad on back is still in?

edit: Oh and $499.99

I still got it in me ;).

I doubt that there will be a touch pad or track pad on the back, makes little sense to me and those kind of trackpads on Motorola Android phones sucked.

Anyways, even if all games for PSP2 will be digital, I predict that you will still see PSP2 games that cost $30 - $50 because no game company in their right mind would charge $2 - $10 for a game with a huge budget. However, I can still see Sony continuing the PSP Minis line for cheapo games that are similar to the ones found on iPhone.

Andriasang found that the Nikkei put up some info about the PSP2, after hearing some of the tech PSP2 supposedly has, I wouldn't be surprised if it costs $400 - 500 minimum. I also wonder how will Sony deal with wireless providers in the other regions and if 3G requires a monthly fee.

Quote from: Andriasang.com
According to the paper, the new system will have 3G support. In Japan, the 3G service will be provided by NTT DoCoMo.

Using the 3G connection, gamers will be able to play online games and download software and movies. The service will not allow for phone calls.

The system will also have standard wireless LAN, of course. However, the 3G support will allow players to connect online wherever DoCoMo has wireless service. DoCoMo is Japan's largest mobile carrier.

Separate from the wireless functionality, the paper reports that the new PSP will make use of an OLED touch screen. Sony has developed a new processor for handling high resolution visuals.

Hopefully it's a universal code.  And it's a shorter code than the 8 thousand digits they have been.

If it's both that and you can trade seemlessly over wifi matches, I'm happy.

The 12 digit friend codes aren't too bad. Now Microsoft codes that you use to enter in vouchers or licenses such as a Windows license or a voucher on Xbox Live are annoying since they are 25 alpha numeric characters.

I would rather the points generated for walking go towards something more worthwhile than costumes for my Mii. How about club Nintendo coins or Wiiware or DSiware points? I have Personal Trainer Walking so I already walk like crazy so whatever reward system they set up I'm doomed to benefit from it. It would have been a better announcement for unlocking something within actual games.
The 19th is a week away, but it feels like an eternity.

I used to do a lot of walking a few years ago before I started driving. Believe it or not, I actually walked a few miles everyday after I got home in high school. During the summer I walked every where I had to go. Now I am a little out of shape and something like the 3DS would be good to motivate me to go back to walking, especially with the summer approaching. This is why I would like to have a 3DS Sports/Fit game that centers around walking, running, jogging and stair climbing.

What side of the 3DS is the SD card slot located?

I have made my mind up that I will get the 3DS on launch if it is $200, but if it is $250 then I will pass on the system for now. However, I manly want to buy the system to get a head start on Kid Icarus and Revelations. I will pass on that OoT remake, but I hope that GBA is included on the virtual console.

If I trade in my DSi, how will I transfer my DSiware games over to my 3DS.

Just get personal trainer walking you can get a copy for $10 at Best Buy and you get 2 pedometers. But if you walk with your 3DS while it's sleeping you earn coins which are supposedly good for game unlocks.

Regarding, transfering DSiWare game, I have a feeling it will involve a SD card and having both systems linked to the same Club Nintendo account. If you read Arstechnica, they said that one Nintendo rep confirmed that you need a SD card to transfer content.  Remember, the 3DS comes with a 2GB SD card.

TalkBack / Re: 3DS Will Be Region Locked

I have a feeling that this also has to do with the parental features restricting specific ESRB, PEGI, CERO and etc. ratings. Since each region has their own rating system, each game would logically have it's respective rating encoded in the game in order to make this feature work.

General Gaming / Sega's new hardware is........Toylet
« on: January 08, 2011, 01:59:04 PM »

Of all things, Sega has made a gaming device where you control games with your urine! If you don't believe me, look at the official site!

Now you can fire your streams of justice to clean grafitti, using the wind to blow a girl's skirt up, and having epic battles by firing milk out of a nose. Also you can even save your glorious high scores on a USB stick!

Looks like Nintendo lost the innovation race ;) .

Conduit left a sour taste in my mouth when I tried it. With the back-to-back releases of GoldenEye and Black Ops, my Wii FPS needs will be met for a long time and I have no desire to get Conduit 2.

Tower Defense is the new FPS, there's simply too many of them coming out way too frequently.

Compare the 2010 release with the 2007 release and you will see an almost identical boxart.

I wonder how Tommy Tallarico feels about incomplete sound design considering that he worked on audio for this game.

I remember that this game was originally supposed to be released as far back as 2009 and then got delayed a few times in 2010. If you look at the previous articles regarding this game, development was complete for a while.

I'm definitely interested and trying the demo first. If I really like the demo, I'm picking up this and Snowpack Park.

Perhaps if this game had spent some more time in the oven, it would have emerged a lot more fully baked.
You do know that this game has been under development for about four years, right? But alas, it's a real shame that this game  has so many issues and is ultimately subpar.

Samurai Warriors 3 isn't so bad but I do have to admit that Sengoku Basara is the superior title if you are comparing both.

This is probably one of the first positive reviews I have read about this title. Also, I never had an with Wii Party being dry or lacking in presentation.

I found something interesting on Neogaf:

According to the guys at Gaijin Games, demos which are rated higher than bronze on the Nintendo Channel stay on longer than those which do not. Otherwise, the demos are GONE in a month.

Also if you anyone was wondering, Snowpack Park is made by Skip.

Nintendo's handling of a voice chat standardization for Wii has been absolutely atrocious. I wonder how Nintendo will standardize voice chatting for their next console.

Yeah, it's in the same place on the Wii version. I think it does that because you can still earn points for your online profile. I agree though, you should be able to play it without an internet connection.

Speaking of Activision, rumor is that the Wii version is going to get pay-for DLC stuff.

That's true, the manual says that you can buy DLC in the game's CoD store. DLC is going to be stored on a SD card.

I have heard that Black Ops for Wii offers better controls and customization. But other than the online features/multiplayer and controls, GoldenEye trumps Black  Ops for Wii in every other category. But both GoldenEye and Black Ops for Wii are great titles. I'm getting the game by tomorrow or Thursday so I can't wait.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: 3DS films

I remember where there were some cartoons distributed on GBA carts, and I don't think those ever caught on. I think movie publishers would probably go for a digital route especially how everyone abandoned ship on UMD movies including Sony. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw movies from Sony Pictures on 3DS.

If anyone played Call of Duty MW Reflex, the pointer controls are practically the same in Goldeneye. In other words, the pointer controls are great.
