Soooooooo... I'm having mixed impressions about this game, but it more because I haven't seen any relevant improvements, and to be honest I'm a bit dissapointed.
It comes with a system update.
Anthony the Ant is cute.
Don't know if the game supports 16:9. I think it runs in progressive, but not entirely sure.
Graphics look good for what it is. Although the 2D art could've been done in higher quality, or maybe it was just meant for 4:3, yet it is being stretched to fit its native(?) 16:9 ratio.
Music is catchy, and not annoying which is important for this kind of game, and even the sound effects aren't annoying.
You now have the option to choose between Side (preferred) and Up (default) positions to control with the remote.
Despite having chosen the Side position to control with the remote, it only works that way when playing the levels. Once you regress to the level select screen, or any of the other screens, it goes back to Up position where you can use the IR pointer to select. I think that once you chose a control configuration it should stand for the rest of the game sections.
I played the first few levels on Normal (unlocked next 2 worlds) and tutorial, and I noticed something was different. Loaded up kororinpa (K1), and I immediately noticed that the first marble has more speed than the first same marble from K2, even if the marble from K1 has 1 star and the marble from K2 has 3 stars. Don't see why they opted for change of speeds other than to make it easier for beginners. If it ain't broke don't fix it, and to me it doesn't even feel like they completely changed the speed of the first K1 marble, but rather they tried to tweek the remote sensitivity, or both, and I feel a disconnect of what should be happening on screen.
The camera controls to check the map are... *sigh*. Even the manual has no indication on how to use it. I figured it out, but seriously? Seriously? Maybe it was just because I had it on the Side position, so tomorrow I will check how it controls in the Up position.
