The developer declares DS, GBA, and Wii support

Cellien Studios Goes Console!

Developer to Focus on Nintendo Platforms.

Cellien Studios, former subsidiary of Star Cave Studios and developer of Illumina (PC FPS game, scheduled to be released as Freeware) and Terra: Formations (PC MMO) announces its intention to focus on the Nintendo® platforms in the future.

Currently the studio is busy developing original game content for the Nintendo DS™ system while developing games on contract for external developers and publishers targeted at the Game Boy® Advance; Additionally, Cellien Studios are entering negotiations for updating existing Game Boy® Color titles onto the Game Boy Advance system, and porting Nintendo GameCube™ titles onto the Wii™ system, a platform Cellien Studios are eager to work on in the future.

Founded by Matthew Sanders (CTO) and Blake Lowry (CCO) in 2004, Cellien Studios are very excited about the shift in focus from hardcore PC development to console development; by developing original IP for the Nintendo platforms, while acting as a contracting agent to other studios and publishers in need of an established and committed 3rd party team, Cellien Studios is ready for the future.

Developers and publishers with original IP or an existing backlog of products regardless of platform are encouraged to contact Cellien Studios to discuss available options for porting content onto one or more Nintendo platforms

Usually when I think about a PC developer venturing onto consoles, I assume their platform of choice would be Microsoft's. It's nice to see them giving exclusive Nintendo support.
Currently Playing: Twilight Princess(Wii), Castlevania: PoR(DS), Mario vs. Donkey Kong2(DS), Wii sports(Wii)
Anticipating: Mario Galaxy(Wii), Blue Dragon(360), Dragon Quest:Swords(Wii), Dragon Quest IX (DS)

I think the Nintendo platforms represent the lowest dev cost and the highest returns. I would not be suprised to see more devs support the Nintendo family

Freeware?  I was tempted to assume these guys are Nintendo fans that got their feet wet in the PC world and are now moving on to their favourite console, but it seems like neither of their PC games have been released yet, and a Google search suggests they were at least rumoured for Xbox 360 and PS3 at one time.

Both games look like first-person shooters, perhaps these guys saw what Wii could do and decided it would be superior for control, and might also have less competition than Xbox 360, where FPS' continue to be one of the dominant genres.

Hopefully these turn out well, I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but these guys seem to be unproven.  Anybody know anything about their work?

Edit: Tried to do more research, but I ran into nothing but brick walls.  I found their official website url's listed somewhere, and they led to error and under construction messages.  I'm starting to think they've never even released a game!
That's my opinion, not yours.
Now Playing: The Adventures of Link, Super Street Fighter 4, Dragon Quest IX

I found the "updating games" things pretty interesting....
(although the GBC-->GBA thing seems pretty pointless, I'd rather have GBC-->DS........but that case would be more difficult to do...)

I wonder, which games are they wanting to upgrade?

it feels nice just getting any support, exclusive wow, that sure has been a rare word to hear for a nintendo console...  and all this love for a little system called Wii
At some point, I'd think Nintendo fans would get sick of the anticipation and just say "screw it," but Nintendophiles are odd, odd creatures indeed.<BR>—Chris Carle, IGN

Who wouldn't be, really. Developing something for PC must be the most depressing thing ever.
"We've done it! Now we've got months of patching to look forward to as thousands of angry nerds will email us about their obscure set-up not running it right, but they'll have only downloaded it in the first place anyway! Oh crap we're broke"

Yeah, putting the GBC games on GBA would at least let us play them on DS. My hope is that it's going to include the Dragon Warrior Monsters games or something. I doubt Nintendo's going to let someone else touch first party stuff.

I think porting GC titles to the Wii seems rather silly. We've got such a nice collection of launch window titles, I can't see much of a market for updated GC games with some Wiimote functionality tacked on.
