This looks like Beat trip runner with a japanese flavour... It could be awesome! It's good to see this kind of game coming from Nintendo, even the price is interesting, a midtier production. The eshop will become a much more interesting place in the near future.

I love that Greg is still writing notes for features of the show. Is he to RFN what Syd Barrett was to Pink Floyd in the late sixties? Shine on you crazy diamond, I'd say... ;-)

Greg, I remember when you talked about what Retronauts had meant to you, after their "last" episode. I feel the same right now, sad and grateful. I'm glad that RFN will live on and I'm sure Guillaume will do a great job, but the podcast won't be the same. Your clever and witty voice will be trully missed. Thank you so much for these years on the podcast... Grazie!

TalkBack / Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Preview
« on: April 21, 2012, 04:02:21 PM »
This announcement really makes me sad... Mario has always been a special fanchise, always reinventing itself with every game. I was ok with the DS game, it had been years since the last "2d" Mario game. I was cringing with the Wii version, but, hey, it was fun, right? And the multyplayer was great. But these screenshots... The same backgrounds, the same power-ups, the same graphics. They are just milking their greatest franchise... Miyamoto used to say that he wanted to surprise the player with every game in the series. Well, I'm not surprised now, I'm bored. Nintendo is changing, and I don't know if I like it.

Props to Nicalis for publishing two cool games like VVVVVV and Night Sky on the e-shop. I hope they'll keep bringing  over cool indie games from Steam! The 3ds needs that.

I think this could be really exciting... I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in this new position of "indie" developer inside Nintendo. I've always thought his talent was kind of wasted in the role of producer. He could be more creative working as a director. He said more than once that he likes working with small teams. And let's not forget that a game like "A link to the Past" is a "small" production by today's standards!

Excellent show once again! And now more than ever, thanks to Greg for the amazing job he does every week editing this podcast. His passion for Nintendo is an example of what makes this podcast, as Jonny stated, the best podcast about Nintendo on the internet! And by the way, I've followed the videogame industry for a long time... If I had a penny for every Greg Miller who foresaw the end of Nintendo in these years I would be a very rich man. And guess what? Yamauchi is quite rich...

Podcast Discussion / Re: Episode 6: Jeopardy Returns!

I liked the Jeopardy segment, but my favourite was the segment related to Super Mario 3d Land. It was cool to hear somebody who actually completed the full game discussing this highly anticipated title. Worldwide coverage is a strenght of this site, and I really think this podcast is very innovative because it makes great use of all the correspondents you have all around the world! I also lovedthe discussion about the Zelda anniversary concert in Tokyo in the last episode... Thanks guys!
