Looks like I was right, the good word of mouth has given Wario Land Shake some great legs.  It's guarantied to go over 100,000 which is great for a game everyone considered a bomb when it only opened with 25,000 it's first week.  Then when you realize it'll do much better in America and Europe like all traditional Wii games do, Wario Land Shake should have some good lifetime sales overall.

Good news for Traditional 2D platformers with Sprite-based graphics on console systems!

Wario isn't sprite based, everything is hand drawn.

Sprites are hand-drawn, just usually at resolutions where they have to be drawn pixel by pixel instead of traditionally.

That's true but Wario doesn't look like a sprite based style neither does the rest of the game.

It is nice to see Wii break 1 million before the other two up in Canada.
Nice numbers for Wii software in Japan. At number 30 we have Mario Baseball for the GC. The last time I remember a GC title on the charts was Gotcha Force.

No way...That HAS to be a typo...Someone had to have mistaken Mario Super Sluggers (on Wii) for that...

Not a typo number 30 is infact the gamecube mario baseball game, in Japan when a sequel comes out it usually rekindles interest in the predecessor, it happened to mario kart DS when mario kart Wii came out. Japanese retailers usually advertise it next to the sequel at a lower cost.

That makes sense when the newer version is HIGHER UP ON THE CHART...The fact that the Wii version is below it is pretty mind-boggling, particularly because it's not really a blockbuster series to begin with...

It'll be interesting to see how the new XBox 360 lower price affects this Holiday season. Sony was just starting to close the gap, but the lower 360 prices throw their American sales progress in jeopardy...

And of course, for Nintendo this could have been a real slam dunk Holiday hardware season, but maybe it'll also be a season that will demonstrate that the other HD consoles are here to stay and won't roll over quite yet.

Also I'm pondering when Nintendo will catch 50% marketshare worldwide... hmm... By VGChartz's (irreputable) guesstimates, they're 5 million units away from doing so, and maybe Nintendo can pull market majority (as opposed to market plurality) by next summer if they're really aggressive... and keep upping their sales estimates.

Kairon I don't think it will affect the sales. From what I read the Sku's prices are 199.99 for the arcade, pro is 299.99 and the elite is 399.99.This should affect ps3 sales if anything. Also considering that Microsoft said that they will fight over second versus Sony.So their eyes are not set at the top.

As for sales this week Rhythm Tengoku Gold continues to sell great this week. The DS software and hardware is selling great.

Well I think what triggered the 360 price drop because of the bigger demand for PS3s in America, MGS4 really did give the PS3 a big shot in the arm. But really ever since January the PS3 has been outselling the 360 month by month but it wasnt until MGS4 came out that widened the gap. I personally think that a oct/nov price drop would been the most significant since that's the season where people buy the most gifts september was a little early since it's back to school time.

It's not like the price drop is a limited time thing, the price will still be lower in October and November. I'm personally happy that they did it early since I'm buying one soon.
