I have just recently noticed the horrible truth that is mentioned in this threads title. It is true, NWR has gone casual. I even have pics to prove it!
Above: Proof of NWR CasualizationAbove: Even the most hardcore threads, the ones where we talk smack about eachother and set up matches for some SSB-Brawl feel even more isolated than usualFor the 2+ years I've been a faithful member of these boards, our Gaming Forum (where the core audience congregated), and that was always followed by our Community Forum which housed the hardest of the hardcore forums... THE
FUNHOUSE HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPO STRATEGY FORUM!! Only the most elite members with 3000+ post roamed there, scaring away your standard core audience that newly signed up and strayed away from the "OFFICIAL Introduce yourself to the Internet" forum. Now with the picture above, we can see that our hard time long core members have been relegated to the 3rd tier of the Forum Index, just to make way for the more casual readers who visit solely Talk back and enjoy the NWR Staff blogs. Even our beloved Mafia games were taken out of the Funhouse.. how long before they're removed completely from these boards!?
We should have seen this coming though...
Ever since the site changed names and were no longer known as Planet Gamecube (named after the most hardcore system of last gen and the most hardcore of space rocks) and even the change of color scheme (from a Royal Indego that screamed "ELITEST!" to the "Discrete Gray" and "Nonthreatening Blue" we have to put up with now).. we should of known better.
I say we all boycott these boards (cuz those seem to be all the rage right now, and that's what hardcore do.. ctrl+c/ctrl+v) and go pay to be some IGNsiders or something!
Who is with me!?!?
