Here's a much higher-quality version of the dinky image posted above: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsH9YPyCEAMWMn6.jpg:large

I wouldn't give the game a 10, but it's definitely up there.  I think the level design is fantastic and it especially does not have any red herrings (as far as what I've played so far) which I feel is a BIG problem in today's game world.  The music of course is fantastic, but I must say its main downfall is the game doesn't push any boundaries - it's essentially Megaman with melee combat instead of projectiles, but then later on you can shoot magic, so you're back to projectiles again.  It's not a perfect game by any stretch, but it will definitely be right at home with all the other retro-themed games out there.  I'll probably play it to completion.

Kill Rooms are a perfect description.  Zelda titles have Kill Rooms too, but not as many.  Another game that was basically ALL kill rooms was Kid Icarus Uprising - which basically turned the game into ****.

This looks so lame and uninspired... like a very basic PS3/Wii platformer from 5 years ago... so sad.

It's probably good to note that her costume is based on her original Metroid 1 NES concept art suit:

Just find it extremely ironic that a game that basically celebrates the entire NES era is going to be on the 360 first.  Tell me the logic in that?  :(

TalkBack / RE: Lawsuit Over Guitar Hero Wii Sound Issues
« on: December 16, 2007, 04:58:34 AM »
Doesn't this whole ordeal just seem a little ridiculous to anyone?  I mean seriously?  Screwing up the SOUND?  To a MUSIC-BASED GAME!?  It's like building a sailboat and forgetting to put a sail on it.  Or forgetting to put wheels on a bike.  I can't believe something of these proportions could happen.  What kind of f'n quality control do they have at Activision anyway?

TalkBack / RE:REVIEWS: Super Mario Galaxy
« on: November 13, 2007, 02:53:00 PM »
I appreciate the review.  But what I don't understand is NO ONE so far has EVER mentioned that MetalStorm for NES is the first game to ever feature gravity controls.  This is even way more advanced than anything Mario Galaxy has in it, which is much more akin to Gravity Man's stage in MM5.  In MetalStorm, pushing UP+A or DOWN+A would flip not only the player, but all the enemies as well!  An amazingly excellent game mechanic.  *Sigh* Kids these days, don't know a damn thing about the greats....

TalkBack / RE: EDITORIALS: Price Break: The Future of Game Prices
« on: November 10, 2007, 01:26:59 AM »
not to undermine the point of your editorial, but I've been saying the same thing for years.  Games that have long development times and large staffs should be in the $50-60 range, where games that are small-scale with small staffs should be only $20-30.  This also reigns true with DS games... most of the games (80-90%) on the DS market should only cost $10-20, but they don't, they cost $30-40 each.  And it's ridiculous.

Just wanted to mention: Diddy isn't a chimpanzee.  He's a monkey.  Monkeys have tails.  Chimps do not.
