Of course she is.

The player controls the head of an airport who tries to sort luggage efficiently so that the airport can expand operations.

Seems about right.

Honestly, this sounds batshit crazy, but I dig it.

Know this, RFN fans. If you vote Mario Tennis, Stan Ferguson will have to go back on RFN.

He will HAVE to.

Don't **** this up for me. You hear?

For sure. Eating tremendous crow is basically a tradition at this point.

I was once hanging out with Mike and his girlfriend at Publix, and I was trailing behind them looking at some steaks, I think, and out of nowhere, I hear, "No kids!" and then the sound of a high-five.

I can't speak to Phone 7 since I don't have much experience with it, but I will say that I think webOS is the only mobile OS that I've tried that matches the fluidity of iOS. My experience with it has been fantastic.

As for why it would be ridiculous for Nintendo to create a decent OS, I'd simply point you to the OS releases they've had so far. Wii, DS, DSi and 3DS are all based on labyrinthine menu systems thin on shortcuts and thick on being hugely frustrating. The mark of a good OS, beyond just not crashing all the time, is feeling intuitive. I haven't seen anything from Nintendo that suggests they can release an OS like that.

For the record, Microsoft and Sony's video game-related OSs aren't much better. Though I do like the unabashedly simplistic qualities of the cross-media bar.

Not a fan of Capacitive for the simple reason it doesn't always register my finger.
That may have more to do with the device/OS you're using than capacitive screens in general.

For example, using iOS on my iPad is like touching water. Everything is really smooth and responsive. On an HTC EVO 4G? Not so much. Both use a capacitive screen.

EDIT: Though it would be kind of ridiculous to expect Nintendo to create a decent OS.

Capacitative touch adds the option of multi-touch controls, which technically exist in a roundabout way for resistive touch, but it's not very common, and I don't see Nintendo going that route. It just makes a lot more sense in the context of a big touch screen like the one on the Wii U - you're going to be using your fingers on it, so it makes sense to give it an input method designed for fingers rather than a stylus.

TalkBack / Re: The Indefensible Position: Stop Reducing Lara's Rack
« on: August 05, 2011, 03:19:54 PM »
Here's the thing. When Tomb Raider originally came out, the obvious graphical limitations required character models to be more cartoony and embellished so as to develop character traits (thus, big sunglasses, big lips, big ass, bodacious rack). But with the increase in visual fidelity... it looks awkward at best, and embarrassing at worst.

I don't think there are any little girls out there looking to Lara Croft to be their role model, but I certainly wouldn't have any issue with making her chesticles a little lessticles.

Ultimately, though, I don't really care either way. Uncharted's a better series, so I'll just play that.

35
I'll be there. Jonny's holding me to my word.

Yeah, there's been plenty of discussion of Killer 7 already on RFN, albeit mostly by Karl. I know far less about the other games in this poll, save for BK:O which I own and have played.

Why the RFN crew decided to include Killer 7 in this poll, I do not know. That said, I will be curious to hear about the game's bizarre anecdotes.
This is actually untrue. Killer 7 came out a full year before RFN began - every time it's been brought up on the show, it's always been in passing (or as a slight on me). There's never really been a comprehensive discussion on it.

Clearly they included it for the right reasons. They put it on the ballot, and the people have spoken. Decision justified.

37
OH HO HO.

38
I gave Killer 7 a 9/10 because I had an awesome time with it, specifically for the reasons outlined in the review.

Speaking of, I actually posted that review six years ago today.

39
I choose batallion wars just for Karl....
Wrong Battalion Wars, I'm afraid. I didn't (not) review the GameCube iteration.

40
A vote for Killer7 is a vote for a better America.

Yeah, they do look weirdly... clipped on or something. Hurm.

TalkBack / Re: Stop Going to GameStop
« on: July 16, 2011, 02:39:24 PM »
Ugh, the last time I went to GameStop was the worst. I had a cab waiting outside, and the clerk behind the desk kept trying to start a "nerd argument" with me. "Yeah, you know, the best Zelda is actually Adventure of Link."

"Okay."
"... You agree?"
"I just want Ocarina, man."
"Dude, you gonna pre-order Star Fox?"
"Nah, I'm good."
"Can't blame you. They should've put Assault on 3DS. Best Star Fox game."
"That's cool."
"Did you see the Luigi's Mansion footage outta E3? Crazy, right?"
"Yes."
"Okay, well here you go. By the way--"
"Thanks. Bye."

Clerks being chatty can be fine sometimes, but mostly I just want to buy something and get the hell out of there.

This is a no brainer. It's better for gamers, better for Nintendo, and likely better for Square.

Apparently wanting games to not look awful on your television means you're brocore.

You're also brocore if you want third party games to look similar to what they look like on competing systems.

All I'm gonna say is that I leant my 3DS to a guy at work about a month ago and I have no inkling to ask for it back at the moment. I was going to get the Legends demo when the eShop launched, but now that's not looking like it's going to happen, so meh. I'll wait until Kid Icarus.

That being said, I fully expect this E3 to be awesome for 3DS.
