Pretty fun so far but the fast enemies that appear in the "sidestory" segments (the ones that don't follow Jill's story on the ship) really don't go along well with the controls that are designed more for slower combat.
You have the game already?! /jealous

BTW, someone with a pedo bear avatar has no right to hurl accusations of trolling against anyone, imho.
Yeah, that doesn't make sense either. Keep smiting me if it makes you feel better but clearly, I'm not the only person who feels this way about your posts.

Nintendo isn't going the change back. They have found a business model that works and they've been making more core games than ever have whereas the business model you so dearly cling to (pre-Wii) was losing them market share every year. If they didn't do what they did, eventually there would be no Nintendo.

Also, you're complaining on a message board that Nintendo doesn't own or operate. You're not accomplishing anything.

Handheld games have reached a certain level of sophistication that I'm actually surprised that the major titles aren't all $50. I'll gladly take the $10 savings but I would have paid $50 for Resident Evil Revelations and Super Mario 3D Land.

How am I trolling?
the Wii is a weak piece of casual bullshit.
You're on a Nintendo message board and all you do is trash Nintendo games and consoles. What ARE you even doing here? That's like going to a restaurant and moaning and groaning the whole time, "This is ****!" but continually going there everyday to register your displeasure. See, there's a difference between disliking something and trolling and you sir, are walking the line of trolling.

You keep pushing this "Wii = casual" rhetoric yet most of us on this message board have a much higher ratio of core games on it. Personally, I've only purchased 2 casual titles on the Wii: Wii Fit (which I eventually traded towards a PSP due to limited use) and Wii Play. The only game in the latter that I enjoyed was Tanks which, if you've ever played it, is anything but casual due to its slow build to "Oh, Jesus Christ, this is impossible." It's simplicity is deceiving.

Your explanation doesn't make sense because you're saying, "There is nothing at all 'super' about the Wii." Well, the Wii doesn't have to be super in this case. Wii U does if it were to be renamed to "Super Wii." It doesn't matter how weak Wii is because anything "on steroids" would conceivably be stronger hence "Super Wii." Your analogy doesn't work and you're just taking every opportunity to trash the Wii. You have an ax to grind. Understood. Can we move on?

That explanation doesn't make sense. At this point, you're pretty much just trolling a Nintendo message board.

How can anyone turn this into a bad thing? If this new game is anywhere near as amazing as Super Mario 3D Land, Nintendo can keep "milking" the franchise as far as I'm concerned. It would only become a problem if Nintendo started making poorly made games.

I can live without trophies/achievements since I never cared for them on PS3/360 anyway. It'd be nice to have but I wouldn't even consider it a major loss if it was missing so long as the rest of the online structure works the way it sounds like it does.

Almost everything about Vita is a bad idea. Focusing on the launch timeframe is oversimplifying how crummy the entirety of its existence is.

Nintendo is the brand that they should be pushing. Start there.

My top 5
1. Nintendo Stream
2. Nintendo 6
3. Nintendo HD
4. Nintendo i (like DSi)
5. Nintendo Origin - I thought of this when there was talk of Nintendo employing EA Origin as part of their online strategy. Won't happen but I thought it sounded cool.

All this huffing and puffing about the name when it matters more to casual gamers than it does to the core. Any core gamer worth his salt knows that games make a system. Nintendo could call the console almost anything and core gamers would know whether they wanted one or not because they know what games are in the system. They read gaming websites and many post on message boards like this one. They would get over any name if it had the games they wanted to play. That's something Nintendo needs to work out with 3rd parties, not their marketing department.

The problem with the Wii U name always lied with casual gamers because they don't know anything and most likely are too lazy/unmotivated to find out for themselves. The Wii brand is strong. It makes sense to keep it if it's recognizable to casual gamers and core gamers care more about what the console offers. However, "Wii U" is a step away from "Wiii." It's problematic and in that way, it might be worth it to consider marketing a completely new name.

6965
I'm vehemently opposed to anything with Wii in it...
Really? That's not the impression I got at all.

6966
Might I make a suggestion? Super Wii should be th new name of the console.
Stop it, kytim.

Sony also makes laptops with Windows. Despite conflicting interests, most companies use the technology of competitors in their own products. If the next Xbox includes Blu Ray, Microsoft is probably just trying to match Sony feature for feature.

6969
Kamiya would do a good job with Star Fox because he's a talented game designer and if he's a fan of the series, he probably has an idea of how to approach a new game but adding DMC/Beyonetta style gameplay is very unbecoming of the series. Not sure you can expand the Star Fox brand, especially by trying to make it into something it's not.

TalkBack / Re: Third Parties Have Final Wii U Development Kits
« on: January 24, 2012, 11:38:04 AM »
We've had this discussion numerous times. It's a potentially big problem and one Nintendo likely will not address. There's certainly a slight chance that come E3, Nintendo will have reconsidered the design and name (for reasons already stated) by unveiling something altogether different though I wouldn't bet on it. Even making black/platinum and renaming it Wii 2 (numbers denote sequentiality) would get the job done. One would hope for more drastic changes but as long as Nintendo establishes their next console as something entirely new, they'll be much better off.

6971
This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Even a "new service" would be an extension of the old one since they do the same thing. I expect more improvements, slowly but surely. Nintendo is starting to "get it" even if they won't budge on certain things.

6972
That doesn't even make any sense...
I'm curious if you're unfamiliar with Venus De Milo, the female turtle from the late 90's live action show or if you think I actually want her in the game. No one liked Venus De Milo. No one. Peter Laird, one of the co-creators of TMNT, won't even joke about her existence.

6973
Quote
- Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo are the four playable characters, each with their own varied move set and weapon of choice (sword, bo staff, sai, and nunchucku…respectively)
No Venus De Milo?! This is bullshit.

6974
It may not be a system feature and Nintendo may not use it in their games, but there is nothing stopping third-parties from allowing these features. It would be nice if Nintendo did make them standard features of the Wii U though, so developers wouldn't have to implement them on a game-by-game basis.
Yeah, I didn't list anything that wasn't a standard. I think not standardizing these things is the issue. If given the choice, most 3rd parties will not put these options in their games. I think it's a shared problem. Not sure about 3DS, but the Wii was not made with these things in mind. Sure, it's possible with some resource finagling, but having to go the extra mile to include these features is something that Microsoft and Sony are not asking 3rd parties. Something has to give and Nintendo is probably going to have to be the one to fold. 3rd parties have made it clear that they can easily just not support Nintendo's home consoles. They clearly have more leverage so Nintendo is pretty much being put in a position to provide these tools to 3rd parties or get next nothing at all.

Sounds like S&P lovers will get plenty out of this; however, it sounds more and more like a game I personally do not want to play.
Agreed. I'm glad the game exists as it will make tons of fans happy. However, it just doesn't seem like my cup of tea.
