I ended up spending more time with this than I thought would, too. It’s a fun little distraction for a while or in bursts when you've got time to waste.

I still need to spend some Club Nintendo coin so these demos have been helpful in figuring out what I might want to buy, too.

Today's deadline is only for the Platinum/Gold elite gift, right? We have until the end of June to spend coins and redeem codes?

Oh yeah - are there any Club Nintendo exclusive games, other than Ultra Hand?

79
Oh nice, I'll have to give this a try again. Thanks for the update!

That's mean! Why would they make the monsters you have to kill cuter. I’m guessing they will just leave behind a treasure chest instead of you having to stab and carve the defeated monsters...

Looks good! I'm liking the bright, colourful cell shaded graphics. This entry might convince some friends to give the series a try, too.

Ah yes, might be a good time to start catching up with Mad Men with it ending soon. I think I’ve seen the first couple seasons, then just started missing episodes and never caught up. Trying to think of any other shows I’m following, and there are actually a few I should finish - The Returned (french version), Broadchurch, Wallander, The Bridge… I'm sure there are more. They’re all a bit dark and gloomy so I'll go back to Danger 5 for a change of pace.

I finished Fargo and it was real good, yah. I went and watched the movie afterwards and it was neat seeing how many throwbacks the series actually had to the movie.

Looking forward to the last BCS tonight, but also will miss it! Think we can expect to see Saul Goodman introduced by the end of the episode? And yeah, where are the next Futurama write-ups!

Man, after their Code Name: STEAM and seeing this new trailer, I want a Valkyria Chronicles-style full 3D Fire Emblem on Wii U. Or maybe a new Battalion Wars or something…

Interesting, I didn’t know that there are multiple versions of game in Japan. Wonder how it will be released elsewhere.

Oops I hope I didn't spoil anything there... Not sure what you've seen of the later Futurama seasons.

Yeah I kind of doubt she was trying to get more money from him. Considering dirty money got her husband killed, I don't think she would want anything more to do with that kind of stuff. It was more a passing though. I think you're right that is was probably the line itself - but it's purpose was definitely to motivate Mike to look for more work and help them out. I gotta admit that I wasn't apparently paying enough attention though because I didn't realize that  money was even from her husband. I thought she told the cops about that money and so assumed it had been seized. I thought that wad of cash came from Mike or something. Oops!

Another good episode this week! Won't say anything in case you haven't watched it yet. I started watching Fargo and definitely liking it so far. I should've saved the show until after Saul and some other shows were done though, cuz now I won't have much to watch pretty soon. I'm already on episode 9 of Fargo!

And now I have the Robot Hell song in my head.

How can you have that song stuck in your head? I can't remember a thing about. I can only remember some of the animation. I'm still in shock over how horrible it was. Maybe that's just me.

I don’t know! I guess I’ve seen it a lot. Whenever I watched reruns, it seemed like it was either that episode or the Titanic one. The other Robot Devil episodes are better, at least. And the Titanic episode does lead to some other storylines, such as Kif and Amy. In Simpsons terms, it would be the Babysitter Bandit episode for me as a kid.

and Nibbler’s shadow is really in the first episode.

Really? Where? Of course, I wasn't looking for him and forgot he even existed until the 4th episode but I'm just kind of curious about when in the episode it happens.

It's during the new year count down, just as Fry’s chair tips back and he falls in the cryo chamber. It’s on the wall, near the chair legs I believe. I looked it up to see if they added that into later releases, but it was apparently even there in the original run. Neat! http://i.imgur.com/TNBFvFU.png?1

Which season are you up to?

One random thing that I’ve always found funny is all of the owls instead of pigeons in the future.

Also, just to derail this thread for a moment, looks like I was wrong about Better Call Saul. Jimmy did work at HHM. A pretty strong episode that I thought was starting to tie a lot of things together and is now giving a better picture of what may happen in the Chuck and HHM conflict.

Hah, yep looks like little Jimmy did work at HHM. Since it wasn’t as a lawyer, you could probably call that a draw as you weren’t completely wrong. It was a good episode. Pretty important in building Jimmy and Chuck’s relationship (past and present) and showing Jimmy's drive, ambition and seeking of approval. And as you said, it looks like it’s leading towards some conflict between Chuck and HHM (working on this big legal case while still contracted with HHM?), and more than likely some conflict between Chuck and Jimmy. It didn’t look like Chuck wanted Jimmy to work as a lawyer at HHM, but I wonder if Jimmy blames Howard completely for that decision - another reason he hates the guy so much. I honestly don’t know if Howard is actually a bad guy or not. I don’t think he’s necessarily a good guy, but maybe not as terrible as Jimmy thinks? Who knows. We haven’t really seen enough to say I guess. Anyways, I couldn't see Chuck or Howard dumpster diving to save files. "You can’t say it’s private if a hobo can use it as a wigwam!"

Silly Mikey. He is going to get into trouble. Do you think his daughter in law said the whole “it’ll only be a drop in the bucket…” thing hoping Mike would get her more money? I would have to see the scene again, but I don’t remember reading that off of the character. She seems pretty honest but conspiracy theories are fun.

Maybe we will get more Jimmy Matlock, solving cases, after all. Maaaaaatlooooock. Or Single Female Lawyer, sticking with the whole Futurama thing

And now I have the Robot Hell song in my head.

When I started rewatching the series last year, I enjoyed seeing how characters and certain stories were introduced. Not having watched it for a while, I was surprised to see how early some them actually appeared in the show and Nibbler’s shadow is really in the first episode. And yes, the voices were really weird at first!

The moon episode would be one of my favourites. I remember liking “I, Roommate” and “A Big Piece of Garbage” too. “A Fishfull of Dollars” had some good laughs, but I did feel sorry for Fry too. I don’t really remember much about the “My Three Suns” or “Fear of a Bot Planet” episodes, which might make sense given your ratings of them.

Same thing happened to me, Fatty! I tried out this trick on the weekend, but Abe didn't come back.

Luckily, I have him on another 3DS. I just sent him to the Plaza and tried saving him as a QR code, however it does not let you create a code. It looks like that's the case for all gold pants Miis, I guess. Sorry, can't get you an Abe after all :(

88
Yep, same times now - 3:30pm sounds good. Are there any items I should grab?

And no I'm not a duping expert haha. I've only tried it a couple of times, and that was several months ago now. The wifi button on the XL was just another perk of the new system!

89
I can dupe stuff after work, sure. I’m actually off today, so I can dupe any time but when were you thinking?

I ended up upgrading to a XL last year - I couldn’t take the broken triggers any more. Plus the golden trforce system looks nice… It is much easier to switch off the wifi on the XL for duping! Although most of my friends are also wimps and don't want to try duping anyways.

If you are still in need of street passes after the awesome trip to Japan, there are always the Fan Expo and other conventions. Although it does mean you have to brave a convention (or sit in the parking lot?) I went a couple years ago and it was hard just keeping up with all the hits and clearing the cue.

Game Boy Camera App!!

Wow looks like I missed some interesting happenings on the forums. What's going on... guess I haven’t been lurking enough.

Huzzah! And thank you again! So glad the Justice League kept going and two of us now have completed our catalogue! Now I’m doing some Spring Cleaning and figuring out where to put all of that stuff. I still have some public works to unlock - and of course badges, but I’m not going out of my way to 100% those.

Have you posted pictures of your beautified town on Miiverse? How goes the badge hunt?

93
Sorry if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but how does the MH4 DLC work? Is it only available for free for a limited time?

94
Sure, tonight works. Does some time after 7 work for you?

Yeah, I need the whole Princess, Gracie, and Gorgeous series, along with the Card Screen and Card Sofa. I'm up for duping, but if it doesn't work out that's fine.

95
I'll be on starting now (~5:45pm your time I believe). I'll just leave my game on for whenever you are able to get on.

96
I shall be online.  :cool;

Stratos, I'll trade you turnips for your Ike amiibo?

97
I’ll be on tonight to try to catch a gahd dang spiny lobster, and maybe get some town project requests. Ya’ll might have plans already, but I’ll open my gates in a few minutes and leave it the game on while I eat in the mean time if people want to travel or sell stuff.

Oh yeah, and here are a few things that can be scratched off the list:

Barrel
Coffee Grinder
Keg
Vintage Telescope
Straw Shirt

Majora's Mask looks good!

The screens at the top of the page reminded me that I still need to finish Link Between Worlds though...

99
I figured you could also take advantage of my town when I leave the gates open as well, Dan.

Cool, sounds good Stratos! And same to you if you see my town is open, whether you need to make trips or sell stuff (my local fruits are apples by the way). I’m also still in early November if there is anything you need to get at that time of year.

I’ve been meaning to get back into MonHun too, so it will be good to have another contact :D . I’ve played with Maxi a couple of times before long ago, but not sure if I’ve played with other members here as well… I’m still a newb though.

I ended up helping a friend move this weekend so I wasn’t as free as I thought I’d be! If I remember, I can just leave my game on for anyone who wants to travel.

Movies & TV / Re: Khushrenada's Annual Oscar Thread Tradition. 2015 style!

I have only seen two of the nominated films so far - The Imitation Game and The Grand Budapest Hotel. I’d love to see Birdman and Whiplash, but looks like I’ll have to wait until those come out on video now. I also missed The Hobbit Pt 3, Nightcrawler and Interstellar. The trailer for Boyhood doesn't really appeal to me, but the whole concept of it being filmed over 12 years makes it interesting. The Academy Awards are definitely about a certain type of movie, and I’m kind of tired of all of these biopics, however well they are done. I’d rather watch a documentary and not have to question what was added for drama!

The Imitation Game - I did enjoy it, but it may have been a more interesting movie if it went further into the espionage, codebreakers, Alan Turing story in general, rather than just about him. That may defeat the purpose of the film (telling Turing's story), but it would've given them more to work with. Showing guys building computers and working code at their desks doesn't make for an entertaining movie (which is why we get some weird cheesy drama bits). Thinking about it afterwards, there really wasn't much to the movie. The framing probably helped pad the film out (Alan telling his story along with additional flashbacks to his childhood), although these jumps also end up being a bit distracting. To be honest, the first time the film jumps back to the 'present' I kind of forgot that story was going on. Anyways, I did like that it was a war movie that didn’t take place on the battlefield. Like I said above, though, you are probably off watching a documentary about codebreakers during the war or Alan Turing if you want to learn something. But that’s not the point of these films…

The Grand Budapest Hotel has so much more substance as a film than Imitation Game. Interesting characters, story, art direction and cinematography make it deserving of one of the best of 2014. It's kind of funny that both Imitation Game and GBH are stories contained within stories, with flashbacks within flashbacks, and also take place during war. And that's where the similarities end. As a Wes Anderson film, you know the scenes are meticulously crafted. Even the flashback format is played with, each one having a different aspect ratio. Wes Anderson movies aren't for everyone - if you don't like him, I doubt this one will change your mind. It's nice to see original stories nominated for Best Picture, but I doubt it will win (also can't say it's really the best movie of the year until I see more of the other nominated films).

So that's all I can add for now... What are people's predictions for the categories? Predictions vs your rankings?

2. Left Behind

UGH I actually rented this. I didn't know what it was and it was the only new thing in stock. At least it was a freebie... Does Nicolas Cage still owe money or something?
