I don't see it that way. (A) the Rat could have been made Godfather of the Reggies. or (B) the Rat and the newly appointed Reggie Godfather could be working together to get rid of the townies and the other gang.

It's also possible (although less likely) the the new Godfather is too stupid to realize that his henchman is the Rat.

With that, ShyGuy was destroyed by The Crucible. The Freemasonry was no more. The town was losing allies quickly.
