What, the storyline?  I thought that the more recent Zeldas (OoT and TWW especially) really tried to emphasize that....

Right with ya

Mumei, I think they just wanted to emphasize that they were linked, but the storylines don't really crossover in any way (WW's reference to the OoT Link isn't crossover imo, just trying to continue the story in a way that makes you believe it's all part of the same world, not the same story)

Wind Waker: A Zelda game. Combines action and adventure, puzzle solving, etc.
Skies of Arcadia: Japanese console RPG. You know the deal. Run around in dungeons, fight off random encounters in turn based combat, talk to NPCs, solve puzzles, etc. Not much action in there, but a pretty lengthy plot.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Multiplayer Hack&Slash RPG. Run around (alone or with friends), kill monsters, kill boss, repeat. Requires one GBA per player in multiplayer, singleplayer can be played with a standard controller. IMO the art style goes into the same direction as Wind Waker, though rendered differently. If you want action, get WW first, if you want an RPG Skies is the better choice.
Harvest Moon: One of those eco sims. You know, the kind where you start out poor with bad equipment and have to work for hours to get some money together. Involves a lot of repetitive cores (well, it IS a job simulation after all...)

Personally I liked WW, loved Skies, tolerated FFCC and hated Harvest Moon, but your oppinion on the subject might greatly differ.

Besides I want to lobby congress to make it a crime to own a GC but not Viewtiful Joe. Seriously, Joe is one of the best games this system/generation has to offer. Most would recommend WW first, I'd say go for Joe.

Here's the order in which I personally would get the games.

1. WW
2. Joe
3. Skies
4. FF

I'm not saying that's the order in which you should get it, but that's the order I would.  I would also recommend Metriod Prime.

I would switch Skies with WW, only because Skies is so much harder to find.

Tales isn't really out in the US, either, but the PGC staff has a few copies. Apparently they liked it. Here in Europe it won't come out until Christmas or even later, so even if you want it importing is your only option for now.

I bought Wind Waker .. the game is fantastic thaks for recc-ing it!  I got it just a few days ago ($49.99 bleh) and I've been playing it every moment I have free... I am at the Wind Temple currently and anticipate finishing the game in less than a week... then I'll try it again and try to do all the stuff, like trading and getting the all the heart containers.. anyways:

Since I spent 50 bucks on WW I might have to wait a while until I can afford Viewtiful Joe .. maybe in a few weeks.

On FFCC: A lot of my friends don't have GBA's they'll play the ocassional Smash Bros. with me on my GC but is it worth it to buy FFCC if there is no one around to play it with me (much like I dunno, Four Swords)?

FF:CC's fun almost depends on multiple players...At least, it is for me...Four Swords Adventures is much more enjoyable playing through singularly...

But don't let that deter you...Give it a rental...

I can tolerate single player FF:CC the multiplayer can be fun or tedious (but chaotic when it goes 3 or 4 players) when i mean tedious is if you have a high stats character and your friend has a character with mediocre stats your going to be forced to pick up the slack for them other than that its a good game other than that the "bucket" can be annoying allitte but hey you control where the group goes. I would recommend a rental (because the game might not appeal to you) but the game is great. LOZ:4 swords is also awesome and is a recommended a pick up if you can stand he 2D ness.

I am not new to the cube, infact I got my cube at launch, but I need some game advice.  I have never really gotten into RPGs (IE ToS) and I want to try some.  unfortunately ToS seems to be very hard to find, and it is probably still at $50 (U.S.) which is a fairly high price to pay to find that I dont like that kind of game.  anyway could anyone recomend a game that is a little older, therefore cheaper than that.  If it is hard to find at a store I could probably find it on e-bay so I dont think that is too much of an issue.

Thanx all

Skies of Arcadia: Legends is a great RPG, and it was one of my firsts so it should be good for you. Plus it's only $20 at most places.

Yes, I know two people who had essentianally never played an RPG until Skies. I took my Cube to a house I was looking after with them for 10 days, and the end result was them playing it about 8+ hours a day. I personally wouldn't have recommended it as a first RGP, because of it's slow pace and frustrating battles, but I guess I've alreadty been proved wrong once anyway. If you don't like Skies, still check out ToS, because in terms of pace etcetera, they're rather different games.

unfortunately, if it is so hard to find in stores, it is probably rented out, besides I have a bad habit of renting a game and not playing it untill right before it is due.

well thanks again, you have been helpful

ToS is one of the best games I've played.  I love Collette.  Hehe, who cares if she's a clutz.

ToS is $50, but it is really worth the money and trouble.  All the stores were sold out, but my dad found one at best buy.  I felt like the luckiest kid in the world.

Observe.

That post was salt.

This is my wound: I cannot get ToS until it comes out later this year in the UK.

He was rubbing it in.

Need I say more.

I happened to be talking to Zach in that last post.  I didn't mean to rub it in that you don't have it.  How about this?

ToS is the worst game I have ever seen.  $50? I'd say its worth about $20.  Don't even bother getting it.  Don't waste all your time and money on a crappy game like that.  Colette's not even that cute looking.

Does that make you feel better?

Forgive me Colette.

I have not bought any new Cube games since last fall (Fzero GX). What new "must have" games came out since January 1, 2004?

I hear Wind Waker is an excellent game Dr.Zoiberg
Thanks but (1) already had it, beat it, and sold it, and (2) that's not a 2004 game.  I'v been "out of the loop" for a while, and I'm curious, What "must buy" games came ouf since Christmas/2004?
