Monolith’s release pushed back to "increase the quality" of the title.

Nintendo announced on their Japanese website that, despite the fact that it just received a Japanese release date in April, Disaster: Day of Crisis has been delayed yet again. The title, which had been scheduled for a July 3, 2008 release in Japan, was originally revealed at E3 2006. While no specifics on the delay were offered, Nintendo said in a statement that the delay was to "increase the quality of the finished product." No new release date has been offered.

The effect of the delay outside of Japan is hard to judge. No other region has received a release date for Disaster: Day of Crisis since its initial delay back in 2007.

It'll be at more E3s than Eternal Darkness was.

Bob Dole doesn't like ED.

This makes me less interested in the game. I know "a delayed game is eventually good" and all that jazz, but in practice it usually turns out more like, "A delayed game is eventually released with dated graphics and major gameplay flaws."

It works when Miyamoto does it. I think everyone else just half-asses it when they delay a game to fix things and make improvements, so maybe having Nintendo in charge can make it work.

The difference is that when Miyamoto delays a game he found a way to improve it, when someone else delays a game it's often because it just wasn't done in time.

They delayed it so they can finish up Project HAMMER and have them both come out the same day. Believe.

They gave it to a tester, five minutes later he was jailed for assaulting the lead developer so they decided to increase the quality a bit.

No way. Escape From Bug Island seems like a documentary compared to the plot of Disaster.

Big bugs are more logical than a terrorist with a nuke happening to be around the same time as a volcano erupts, a hurricane storms in, a bear attacks some guy, tsunamis... and some kid gets kidnapped.

I mean, good lord. That's a crappy day.

Iwata said the bear fighting isn't awesome enough. The tester retorted that they didn't know how a real bearfight works, so Iwata dropped them all in the Arctic and told them to not come back until they knew.
