Seriously, I find animated gifs to be even more annoying now. They weren't bad at all at 64x64, but 100x100 just annoys the heck out of me. Now I really don't read member's post who have an animated gif (sorry to these who do) and scroll to the top or bottom of the screen so I won't see it. Is it possible to ban on animated gifs?

I know I'm risking making myself the most hated forum poster!

I like it, but it annoys me when I read your post and others' post before and after that are visible on the screen.

EDIT: I looked into turning off animated gifs in my browser, but I can't find it. I'm using FireFox v0.8. Anyone know how?

I believe you can turn off animated GIFs on your browser, AiAi. I know you can on Opera and IE, at least, not sure about Firefox.

I agree with you AiAi. It does get very annoying. I don't ignore their posts, though. It doesn't bother me that much.

Whether the animation in an avatar is needless or not is subjective and therefor up to the administrators. Since none of the administrators have asked anyone to remove the animation from their avatars I'm assuming none of them were deemed needless.

I think they should just change the avatar rules to one line saying....

Your avatar may NOT be a pain in the ass.

Then just leave it all up to subjectivity.... (is that a word?) =P
