After playing it for 12 hours straight yesterday I can say handsdown this on a par with N64 Zelda games, if not better. Probably my favorite Zelda now. Got it for the Wii U and Switch and will play it again when I get a Switch. I am very happy Nintendo made us wait, but it was worth it this time.

Also there is a skill ceiling now. I fucking love it.

Anyone know how to get the special tunics? Like the Fierce Deity, Hero of Time, Hero of Twilight, etc sets? Guidebook says amiibo functionality, but I've yet to find out how unless it is a random chest loot or there are more amiibo coming.

Concerning voice acting, I did the Zora dungeon, and I thought the story around that was better told through VA.

Meaning I can change my region to Japan and buy their E-shop exclusives? COUNT ME IN!

Speaking of social media, it can work both ways. You can use social media to draw people to forums. It may not have as big a draw as social media, but it can bring people in. This year is going to be a big one for Nintendo. Update the site, promote the site and forums through social media, and give your best shot. Now would be the best time.

As for the forums feeling like a hang out for a group, yes it does feel that way. Especially when you are new here. I thought the forums was a group hangout before I ever made an account. I lurked for what, 2 years at least? It does heavily give that impression.

Shovel Knight: Finally got around to it, now I see why everyone is in love with this game. I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Dark Souls 3: Just from 5 hours in, it is better the Dark Souls 2. Not Bloodborne or DS1 level, but still enjoyable.

Xanadu Next: If anyone ever liked any of the Ys games or Legend of Zelda, give this game a shot. It is extremely good and the plot setting is fantastic. You unravel the mysteries of the island you are on through tomes and memoirs you find. The lore I've seen so far is really good and classical fantasy. Gameplay is top-down perspective, you use your mouse to move and attack. Keyboard to quick select spells/skills and to quick use items.

This a Falcom game through and through. And that is a good thing.

I agree with getting rid of Gameplay Strategy, Hardware, and Matchmaking. Most of that is discussed in the mega threads for a particular title anyways (think Xenoblade and Mario Kart). Hardware isn't used very often that one or two threads every once in a while won't destroy the forum.

Also the Nintendo Gaming idea, just fuse Handheld and Console. Ditch the child boards for friend codes. Wii and DS friend codes are phased out.

As for forum traffic, I just say go ahead and try to keep the forum more up to date. As of now it appears dead, old, and poorly managed. It gives off a bad first impression. Work on that and it might be better.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: I boxed up my Wii U today...

I don't think I'll be boxing my Wii U up for a while. It does have a lot of good games, not including virtual console. I sure as hell didn't buy it just to box it up when the new console comes out. Hell I still play my N64 and have it out. Nintendo games are fun to come back to like that.

Lot of people speculating it was running at 60 fps on the Switch. Even when they switched to the controller.

I know it just wishful thinking, but I see Grasshopper on there. I hope for a No More Heroes 3 or anything in general from them.

3. Seriously how is this better than Club Nintendo, it's not enticing anyone to do anything

How is it not better? All the neckbeards (not me I swear) can't go into Gamestop and take photos of the Club Nintendo codes nobody used.

Seriously though, this new system just switch from physical and digital giving coins to just digital and improved reward variety, which Club Nintendo could have easily done. Hell they don't even offer physical merchandise anymore.

Ocarina of Time Link is a must. I love it. Hell I'll buy two of them.

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven: Eh, it has better story then Rune Factory which isn't saying much. The combat is tedious and oversimplified. I hope it picks up and gives me something. The commander enemies take too long to kill. The generators take too long to kill. Battles feel really boring as it is just trading punches with an enemy over the course of 20 turns with no real strategy. There is no way to grind levels really to improve. I thought it was going to be an inn/business sim? It isn't (that I've found yet). Which really....ugh. Wasted potential overall.

MGSV TPP: Regardless of all the controversy, the **** story, the cut content, the controversy crap I don't care about, etc, this game is still the second best Metal Gear Solid game, with MGS3 remaining #1. I as happy with it, I am at 95% completion and just grinding animals, combat deployments, and trying to steal a nuke (nuke tab is broken so it is harder then it needs to be). The game stopped being fun at the last 5%. But the other 95% was great.

Azeke mentioned the Quiet Exit mission being bullshit. I can't tell him he is completely wrong, but the game is a great stealth sandbox if you take your time to explore your options. One of those options is mist parasites and night vision. It made completing the tasks easier (still a fucking bitch to do). S-rank was easy with it. I died once at the checkpoint, but it was pretty simple. Kill the soldiers who work as spotters for the tanks in the mist. Spam rockets. Done.

Ending was fine, except the huge fucking cliffhanger with "episode 51".

MGS3 3D: This port is a mixed bag. It still looks fine albeit the ending cutscenes looked worse then any other point of the game. You can crouch walk and use third person aiming which is unique. Circle Pad Pro/ N3DS is mandatory for competent controls. Sadly, the game suffers from frame drops and aiming with the N3DS nub, in the Fury and Fear boss fights especially, hurts your thumb. Still, it costs $20 on E-shop and that is a good deal imo.

Seemed more like they wanted it to have a T rating instead of a Mature one to try and "convince more people to buy." And this wouldn't have been the first time a game has been censored just for that reason.

Hidden Truths is really good, a little difficult, but that is it. Hidden Truths 1 gets you a class item for  Grandmaster class. Hidden Truths 2 gets you an item that gives any unit (and their children) the ability to use Dragon Veins.

The "2nd wave of DLC" maps, is harder. Tells a nice story though. The taker skills aren't very useful in my opinion though.

Cooking is in-depth? Don't know how I feel about that...

And yes Monolith actually did help with this game.

I hope this means more Falcom games come.

Good game. Simple and fun.

43
3 more months huh  :-\

I still hope they have the Dragon Quest VIII remake for the end of the year, but probably not anymore.

44
If there are plenty of towns and NPCs, then I have no worries for this game, for now at least.

I just thought about it, this game has more meaningful stat-based gameplay then Skyrim!

45
Depends. If the NX is going to have some convoluted controller, then I'm going too just stick with the Wii U version. Otherwise I'll get both because I'm an honest idiot

46
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA No female Link. Oh I love it.

I do have an issue with little to no NPCs. Because let's just take the barren, boring lands of Skyward Sword and make them more barren. Some of the decisions overall have me hesistant. Zelda might have needed a new direction. It did not need this direction, but we'll see.

Edit: Looking at the trailer....I am hesitant, but this game looks to have some shining moments of brilliance.

Conquest is better than Birthright in almost every way.
I've been screaming this from the roof top since forever so yeah

I just did Lunatic Birthright and it is just awful

We will make cartridges great again.

49
I hope I can customize myself enough to not look like a surfer douche.

Still, very nice so far. Really good looking. Can't wait to hear more. More interested so far then I was with X/Y

Pokemon is a given. There will have coverage on it to some extent. Maybe Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal on VC as well.

Zelda they are going to really need to sell me on. Because between the rumors, how it is being handled, and how Skyward Sword was, I'm not sold. At all. Not even as a die hard Zelda fan.

And something to try and justify the New 3DS.
