The opening is obscenely long and I skipped it after the first episode.

I just finished the season. Most of the other characters were more interesting and less annoying (yet mostly still annoying) than Piper. Off the top of my head, I only ending up having a positive opinion of three characters Lorna Morello, Susan Fischer, and Cal Chapman. The rest were neutral (e.g. Sister Ingalls) or negative (e.g. pretty much everyone else). That's not to say they couldn't be entertaining and/or funny. Pornstache was particularly difficult to watch, but had his moments mainly due to how hilariously sleazy he can be. Nicky was okay, but had her I-want-to-punch-you-in-the-face moments. Often, the characters were all over the place, lacking any and all consistency. Maybe that's why thy're in prison.

I get it. They're trying to show prison culture, how the different groups interact and it's true that there are definitely people like that, but I still had trouble relating to most of the characters. I don't think I'll like Jason Biggs in anything.

Out of the 13 episodes, I only consider the premiere and the one about the chicken to be bad, in the latter's case, I just didn't get the point and it seemed like filler, like the fly episode in Breaking Bad (though even that was more entertaining than the chicken episode).

Yes, ep1 & ep5 were bad.

ep1 was to set up the show, and I still don't really get the point of ep5.
in my first post praising the show, I had actually just finished ep4 and was about to start ep5....
that episode almost made me think I jumped the gun. I'm glad all the rest of the episodes came through though. Like the Scared Straight episode. that had some good moments.

The Fly episode of Breaking Bad.  I also liked the Chicken episode of Orange... Hm.

The Chicken episode was one of the more important episode in the series so far.  I'm only 2 or so episodes from that one but, it had direct ramification on her outside life and her inside life and how shes drifting away from her outside life.  It also explains in its own way why the track is so important, didn't you ask yourselves why they couldn't just run somewhere else?

I'm going to note here that the beginning is a 1:20 long.

Netflix finally gets user profiles!!!
http://techcrunch.com/2013/08/01/netflix-user-profiles/
Quote
Netflix is rolling out its long-anticipated user profiles, allowing multiple members of a household to create personalized accounts and get personalized recommendations based on their own individual viewing habits, rather than the habits of an entire household.

When a new user signs up, he will be prompted to create user profiles for everyone in the household, and they will be asked to create a taste profile based on genres that they prefer. Subscribers can create up to five user profiles per account, providing some much-needed flexibility for households where tastes vary widely.

When opening the app on any of a number of supported platforms, Netflix subscribers will be prompted to choose their profile. The app will then suggest programming based on what they’ve watched before or what their favorite shows or movies are.

According to Netflix Chief Product Officer Neil Hunt, the new profiles will be created as blank slates, wiping out previous data-driven recommendations until it learns what a user likes. For those who have been Netflix subscribers for a while, that might seem like a lot of valuable data to just throw out. But Hunt says that Netflix recommendations are heavily weighted toward recent activity anyway — so it won’t take long before suggestions once again become relevant.

User profiles will begin to roll out to users beginning today, and will become gradually available to existing users over the next couple of weeks. At first, users will only be able to create new profiles on the Netflix website or on the PlayStation 3. But profiles will be accessible across a wide range of devices, including the website, PS3, Xbox 360, iPad, iPhone, AppleTV, as well as most newer smart TVs. More devices will be added over time, making profiles eventually ubiquitous.
Wii U didn't make the cut...

sucks that I'll probably have to go back in and re-rate everything all over again, but atleast I won't have Veggietales and various other kids shows as my most recently watched programming.... and then I also don't have to worry about kids looking at the recently watched and seeing something highly inappropriate in name and/or cover photo.

This is very much long overdue.

Netflix waited till it was a compelling reason to use Netflix for the recommendations.  Enough so you would be willing to jump through a hoop to do it.  Say what you will but a million paper cuts can kill you.  Having to choose a profile each time is well annoying so it better be worth something.

It would have been great if they had done this back when they did the "just for kids" split, that way you atleast separate those viewed shows from the rest of your Netflix.
I dint need recommendations for Dora and My Littlest Pet Shop, along with dozens of other kiddie things I have no interest in just because they were watched on the Netflix kids partition.

The first half of Breaking Bad Season 5 is now available on Netflix. I just watched the first two episodes. I should be caught up tomorrow. It's progressing as expected. Mike was pissed that Walt is responsible for Gus' death and Hank is trying to piece together Gus' drug business.

After this, I want to try to get back into Fringe. The last season is available now too.

Yeah I'm sort of surprised they didn't partition those two.  Though I would like to be able to use a profile to restrict my son.  I rather he didn't watch Orange is the New Black and I can't watch him all the times.

enable your profiles here, since this appears to be the only way if it didn't pop up on it's own.

Ironically I had a sub-account for my wife already from when I setup Netflix about 7 years ago and it popped up on my Netflix PS3 last night and I setup my son right there.

Netflix enables SuperHD for everyone, and 3D for all US members
(maybe you can use the unblock.us to access the 3D outside of the US?)
http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/26/netflix-super-hd-open-to-everyone/

I'm gonna go try and test out the 3D with whatever 3D videos they have available now.
will report back later.

SuperHD is working, but haven't figured out how to do the 3D video yet.

Apparently if you have a supported 3D device and the movie is 3D available, it will prompt you prior to starting the movie to ask if you want to view in 3D.

my Vizio 3DTV supports the SuperHD but not the 3D yet.

Netflix will prompt you to ask if you watch to watch in 3D if your device is supported.

My Vizio 3DTV was not supported for 3D.
Maybe in a few weeks, and it's fine because their 3D selection right now SUCKS.

Would the game still be live? There's no way I'd watch a recording of a game I'm likely to not care about. And two Thursday night games is ludicrous. The one game is on late enough as it is, no way I'm watching two.

please no. I don't want my subscription possibly going up due to this. I'd rather they take whatever money that would go to this and pay for Starz and Viacom content. That and orginal content I'd like to see n the long run.

The NFL wouldn't have this problem if they just said screw all you content providers and go a la carte like every other sport league in america.
