Fire Emblem Warriors will be a multi-platform experience this fall.

The game announced during last week's Nintendo Switch reveal was announced to release this fall for both Switch and New 3DS consoles. An extended trailer was also shown with popular Fire Emblem characters appearing in the game.

I think it's a questionable move to take a Switch game that could be an exclusive and make it available for a much more popular platform.  The Switch kind of needs all the help it can get.

My guess is because Fire Emblem has the largest fanbase it's ever had on the 3DS, Nintendo wants to milk that audience as much as they can.  Nintendo probably worries that Fire Emblems recent rise in popularity it got on the 3DS might drop to more niche levels again so might as well get as many sales from this fanbase because there's no guarantee Fire Emblem will ever be this popular on a system ever again.

Does this suggest that the Switch game could be priced at $40 since it'll be alongside the 3DS pricing?

A glooming peace this morning with it brings;
The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

KoeiTecmo does their musou as $60 for console/$40 for handheld on the PS4 / Vita, and Hyrule Warriors (Legends) did the same thing.

I might have been able to see $50 for the console version if it were a simultaneous Wii U and New 3DS release. With Switch, so far it seems smart to keep your expectations on the higher side of things. I'd be really surprised if it wasn't $60.
