Nintendo Gaming / Re: Will Nintendo Finally Drop the Switch Price?
« on: July 04, 2024, 02:06:53 PM »
We don't have any real info on that, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's fairly early 2025, similar to how the Switch came out in early March. But with the Switch still selling well at the current price there's no real reason for Nintendo to drop it right now.

Historically, Nintendo releases consoles in November but I wonder since the Switch and Switch 2 are not typical standalone home consoles that has changed the timing of release.  Plus as MK Ultra said, the older console stays on the market as the new console gains steam or until things balance out.

When is the Switch 2 supposed to be coming out?

Do we know late 2025 or summer 2025?

I think that is going to matter on when there would be a price cut for the Switch.

First two days of free agency is needing lots of patience from me as there have been no moves by the Lakers yet.

Price Cut for the hardware is unlikely as you noted the new library Kairon but I could see some older titles going on sale during the holidays or in the summer for kids and their parents to play together.

Legend of Heroes games are ones I have been interested in but haven't really played any.  I wonder what is the best place to start with?

Never really got into MineCraft but I see the appeal of it.

Crochet can be fun at times and is a pretty good way to be creative.

Enjoyed the review of it.

Yeah I saw that.  It would be interesting to have him back on the team.  Hope his legal issues get resolved.

After all this time it is official.

According to a source it is a done deal but there hasn't been an official announcement yet.

I've wanted a playable Zelda with magic Zelda game for over 15 years now. But the nagging thought in the back of my head was how to make the magic actually interesting and distinct from non-magical Link's items. The chemistry/physics engine of BotW seems to be their solution. While magic could break the game and make it too easy like Kirby, they can make it more limited and situational based to make it challenging. They haven't said anything about how you select summons so you might be limited to a set of local ones to find a winning combinations. I don't think they're going TotK building path (at least for the 1st game) and probably closer to great plateau BotW experience where you can rush enemies with spamming summons or you can find ways to exploit the environment + magic.

The only downside is they used the remake LA toy-like models, I rather something closer to the old artwork or anime. I get it that it makes the magic less jarring and out of place looking if everything has a toybox appearance but still...

I saw a breakdown on YT by Zeltic and they noted something I didn't notice in my hype for playable Zelda.

They noted there was triangles tailing Tri and that was how many uses you could get from the echo uses and certain items and/or foes who have a set amount needed to use them.  Also sounds like within the trailer it went from 3 in the jail scene to 4 at various points in the game.  So it seems like that power will grow in uses.    So all the memes about 27 pieces of furniture may not be a possibility but someplace within the middle of 3 and 27 is likely.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Switch is so popular people don't even post

I am just going to say that I have had less time to post on here than I did in the Gamecube and even Wii Era.  I didn't have a WiiU and had a 2DS and I had gotten a Switch Lite with Pandemic money.  I have also been trying to balance jobs, gaming and my other interests.

So on top of me trying to find time to game there is not enough time to chat on here even though I want to.

Starting to get frustrated by how long it is taking for the Lakers to hire a new Head Coach.  It has been two months since Darvin Ham was fired and there is a week till the draft!

I have another seasonal job offer on the 6th of July in the afternoon with Amazon so it would be during the time we start.  Having said that it is part time so I should be able to contribute some.  It has been some time so I am going to vote for the simplified setup plus with me working again I don't want to go into a super complex game., even though I love those.

I personally find those complex games are more doable when there is a string of games in a row with a set of players playing in games in a row.  Just adds another layer to the expected way folks play.

That said I am in.

Aww oh no I know you probably won't see this but I will miss you.  It just seems people are busy with their own lives and only pop in here when they can and that is understandable but disapointing.  A lot of old hats have been here for a while so we need to get some new fresh faces here to keep this forum going like it was in its hayday.

Once again:

I mean the Jazz are trying to tank.  There is your reason there.

What the **** were the Jazz thinking trading Vanderbilt and Beas- Never mind, I’m gonna stop questioning it. Thanks, Trader Ainge.

Good post pokepal.

I do like how you talked about the game themes and some of the history of the series and for your team it is pretty varied and I like you used some pokemon that one doesn't normally play in a typical in game play through.

I look forward to reading about the next game you will play in Heart Gold.

I wonder how they'll incorporate Mario Kart into the story.

Who knows but I can see it coming into play somehow.

Maybe as some sort of rescue but by someone we wouldn't expect.

General Gaming / Re: Visiting Japan: Games to Buy, Places to Visit?
« on: February 23, 2023, 06:20:05 AM »
I am planning to visit Japan this year and will be in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. I am planning to doing some game shopping, visiting arcades, and other video game related tourism. Does anyone have recommendations on the following:
  • Good arcades or used game stores in Tokyo
  • Must visit video game related places in Japan
Thanks for any suggestions

So I haven't been there yet but Akihabara is considered to be the mecca of video game shopping in Japan.

So according to this site Japan is still dealing with Covid-19.

Super Potato is in this district and it has all sort of retro games and consoles like Adrock described.

This person went to a Nintendo Hotel. Username on YT is TDR Explorer.

This is actually Nintendo's original headquarters.

This is a video about the travel restrictions being lifted in Japan.

This person also has a website and on there, is an article on travel restrictions.

I don't know if you know any different languages but if not then there are some cool language apps like uLanguage(For Chrome/Android) or Memrise(iPhone/IOS).

I use uLanguage since I am starting to learn Thai and Spanish recently and if you have Android/ Chrome it is the top tier language app for Android.

I don't know how accurate the show is to actual Japan but for arcades the show High School Girl is a good watch and you may see some similarities.

I do eventually want to go to Japan in the way future so if I find anything else of note I will share in this thread for you M.K. Ultra and others like myself that want to go there in the future.

I played the Steam version of this near launch a few years ago and it sounds like there needs to be a patch for this much like the Steam version needed one.

Symphonia is one of my faves in the series but I still have to finish several RPGs on the Switch like Tales of Vesperia, Live A Live, Pokemon Scarlet, Chrono Cross:Dreamers Edition.

Oh this is a good idea ThePerm.

Trying to think.  I think I joined the site back in 2003 under a more generic username and was there during the MEGATON days which I don't think amounted to anything.  So then I was 22 or 23 in 2003 when I was posting under that username.

Think I was working on myself from 2004 to 2008 when I created my current Maxi, BeautifulShy account. January 11th 2008 with this current account so about 15 years with this current account.

I have grown in so many different ways.  Back then I was a shut in and pretty much my whole life was video games and now I am more outgoing and fun andI am actually becoming a productive member of society as I have been a moderator over on Silver Screen and Roll for the past 2 years and I am working on being a social worker and building credit and I am in a relationship with someone who I love dearly and want to see in person after a few obstacles are surpassed.  She brings out the best in me and motivates me to keep going and I do the same with her.
