New Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Trailer
« on: May 17, 2005, 10:15:51 AM »
There's a new trailer up for the game we're all waiting for.

Zelda Universe, the official site of the Legend of Zelda series, has posted a new trailer for the game.  This is the trailer that was shown at the E3 Press Conference this morning.

Among the revelations include evil enemies falling from the sky; our first glimpse of Link's transformation into a wolf and his battling with enemies in that form; the strange female character (possibly the Twilight Princess) that acts as his rider; a whole lot of horseback battles, and some cool footage of him riding a boar.  What are you reading this for?  Go and watch it!

Thanks to reader sonic_stop68 for the tip!

Well, I'll be damned. The game looks scary indeed, even if it is tempered with Nintendo-style humor and light areas. I'm very surprised. I also never expected Link to turn into a wolf. The poor guy looks like he's in agony in that form, especially with that little freak riding him.

Very... interesting. I'm also glad that it transitions from the dark freakiness into more light-hearted fare 2/3 of the way through the trailer, to show the contrast between the horror and the lighter aspects of adventure.

I wonder who the young girl (or boy? Looked more like a girl to me) crawling through the hollow log was? She seemed to be the same person tied to the stake held up by the soldier later in the trailer. I guess she's not as much a minor character as might seem at first.

Certainly an interesting game. As for the character designs, I like the mixture of realism and cartoon. I'm glad the characters still look very stylized.

I've often wondered if these news topics should get locked after say a month or so since most of the time, their purpose is done by that point. I know there would be some exceptions. At the same time, if crazy bumping doesn't happen all that often that I guess it's unnecessary work.

GameFAQs does this, any topic that gets no replies for 30 days are automatically locked.

Seeing that Zelda HD Demo from a few years back just reminds me of how excited I was for the Wii U...once.

I'm just glad they are doing a realistic looking Zelda. That cel-shading was the worst.
