TalkBack / Re: Miyamoto Wanted the Wii to Be HD
« on: July 19, 2013, 08:23:16 PM »
Apparently everyone thinks the HDTV adoption rate was super high in 2006. They weren't STANDARD until around 2007 or later.

It'll be a PS3 game. No doubt about it. Might also be a Vita game. But most likely a PS3 game. There will never be a Wii U Tales game, and if there ended up being another 3DS one, it'll just be a bad, lazy port of an older game.

It's unfortunate that Nintendo loves Gamestop so much.

Compare Radiant Dawn to any of the portable Fire Emblem games. There are plenty of gameplay enhancements in that game over any of those portable FEs.

I'm pretty sure this is eShop-only. I'm going all physical for these games, but this is an absolutely amazing promotion anyway. Helps spread awareness for these two awesome franchises and increases the available fan base for the upcoming SMT x FE. Goddamn I'm hoping that game blows my mind.
Also, would be nice if this promotion extended to people who bought more than $40 worth of the FE13 DLC.

I wonder when Square Enix will start to develop new games for Wii U and not act like an eastern EA.

Just kick Lucario out and bring back Mewtwo.

Perhaps they'll show it at the next Direct in a few months.

Noivern = Wyvern
Looks like a wyvern forced a bat to mate with it.

Sigh, seems it'll be a long time before we get to see Retro pushing the Wii U to the limit.

Well the Galleria is in Houston, so I guess they're trying to limit locations to one per city, even in major cities.

Getting one of these. Though I'm near an outlet when gaming, I'm not a fan of being tethered. Only times I can tolerate wires is for either classic games or multiplayer PC games like Ragnarok Battle Offline.

After generation 3, the games just didn't feel right to me. I'll still buy Y, but I don't think I'd be able to enjoy it as much as I enjoyed generation 1 (with remake), generation 2 (not sure on remake), and generation 3.

EDIT: Also, it seems to me that there ISN'T character customization at all. Looks more like now instead of only choosing gender, we also get to choose from 3 preset character appearances as well. Looks like it'll be a long time before Pokemon gets actual character customization....

Is Phantasy Star Online 2 one of those titles? How about Project Mirai or Project Mirai 2?

This MUCH better for us gamers. Sadly, the Internet will continue chirping about how Nintendo won't be at E3 and that no one will care.

I've always been curious what the Lair Land series is about since I've seen it on their website. Great to see it's finally coming to 3DS.
Seems like the girl in the games is their mascot, as she also appears in some of their 3DS games.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Needs to Stop Caring About What Other People Think

Multi-plats from third parties would be nice, but I mostly want Nintendo to work on expanding their development studios even more to accommodate more games for development and to court more indies to work on their platforms (which they seem to be doing a pretty good job). Having devs make exclusives for them would be nice, too. Wii had plenty of nice exclusives (many of which were ignored by many gamers, but were great nonetheless).

You'll probably be happier once you get Awakening.
You get to make YOUR OWN GIRL.

TalkBack / Re: Personable Pawns: A Defense of Permadeath
« on: February 03, 2013, 08:44:37 PM »
Personally I think of it as this: Fire Emblem is a game. And since it's a game, I'm going to take advantage of the fact that I can restart. I know plenty of people find it frustrating to have to restart, and I do as well. However, I find that I can learn from my mistakes better if I can give it another go right away. Playing casual mode would make me a little more lax in my strategies and would risk suicidal tactics more often, since I know the character would come back.

Permadeath will always be the best way to play for me, it's one of the elements that makes Fire Emblem what it is, but if Casual mode brings more players then oh well. Fire Emblem fans like myself can continue to play Classic mode and enjoy the game the way it's meant to be played, while the newbies can still enjoy the game with the casual setting. Casual mode could also be good for those technical SRPG gamers who want to complete Reverse Lunatic mode without having to worry about TOO much difficulty caused by permadeath (it'll still be pretty hard).

Just to let people know, the first batches of DLC aren't really worth it unless you're a really diehard fan.
