A reconfirmation of communication software, the return of Mii sharing and more has been outed by the Wii U packaging.
Little-discussed Wii U features are detailed on the packaging, which was revealed last week. The "Connect" list is just barely legible when zoomed in.
One reveal is Wii U Chat, an application that allows people to "communicate with other Wii U owners in real time." Although Nintendo has not officially provided details about the app, the name could correspond to video chat via the camera and microphone in the GamePad and/or the text and drawing-based communication app, both of which were demonstrated during the Pre E3 2012 Nintendo Direct video.
The packaging also gives confirmation of the ability to share your Mii characters with others online, a feature that was introduced on Wii but was absent from the 3DS version of the Mii Creator, which used QR codes and local connectivity.
Lastly, there were allusions to the kind of content that will be available on the eShop. This listing includes "classic games," suggesting that the Virtual Console service will continue on Wii U, though this could refer to such games availability in "Wii Mode."
