With the serious talk out of the way, let’s talk word selection.
How would Insanolord like to end this game? Would he select Paramount+ in the hopes I choose it again and Star Trek Discovery takes me down? But what if I select Amazon and he has to go down with the (star)ship? Would he be ok with that? He had been selecting things based on what he last watched and posted that Paramount was what he last used at the time he made his selection of Amazon but I had taken Paramount away from him. In the short time from when he made that post to when he had to select a bomb word, had he watched a different service or was Paramount still his most recent viewing? Was he still following his strategy or did he fear that it would now be used against him in the Final Round?
On top of that, does Insanolord have a tell when it comes to the Final Round? I looked back at his previous 5 Final Rounds. In the first one, he was the player who had to select the remaining Safe Word. He chose option A and lost. In the other 4 Final Rounds, Insanolord had control of the bomb word just like he does for this Final Round. (Quit being so greedy and let others have a chance!) In three of those four rounds, Insanolord selected the word he had just guessed in the previous round which was safe for him. Does that mean that he will have selected Amazon Prime now as the bomb word?
On the other hand, all three of those words were option B in the Final Round and in the one game that he didn’t select the word he had previously chosen in the prior round, that’s because the option he selected was the B or second option. Basically, in every Final Round that Insanolord has selected the bomb word, he has chosen the latter or bottom option. As long as people guessed the top or first option, they won the game. Now, I highly doubt Insanolord went back and looked over his record before selecting the bomb word for this round. I’m not sure he is even aware of this record as I only clued into it now. Considering this is his third Final Round in a row, and in the previous two he selected the bottom option, would his natural instinct to select the bottom option kick in again?
On the other other hand, I decided to take emotion out of it and using a random number generator, I did a test of 11 picks. The number 2 option came up 8 out of 11 times. Seems kind of definitive there which option I should take. But it’s just random chance so what does it know?
It seems that selecting the same option Insanolord had previously chosen before the Final Round has high odds of being the bomb word but not as high as choosing option B. That coupled with the fact that Insanolord was likely watching more Star Trek: Lower Decks suggests that Paramount+ would be on his mind. Despite the random chance test, all history is indicating that I should choose Option A (Amazon) over Option B. In fact, in my favorite test of this situation, the Safe Words Jeopardy game, the final round was simply A and B. The person selecting the bomb word chose B. It does seem like that’s the favored option for the Final Round bomb word selector. Therefore, the odds dictate that my best chance of winning is to go with the A option. But maybe Insanolord has been playing a long con of selecting the B option over and over to reach this scenario in which he won last game with the B option and now finally switches to the A option to fool us all thinking he’d select B again in order win back-to-back games. At some point, you’d think he’d have to finally switch it up and choose a different option than B, wouldn’t he?
