F-Zero GX summer hoedown
« on: May 21, 2004, 08:35:49 PM »
I've had F-Zero GX since it came out, but I'm just now starting to really get into it.

Is there a really top tier racer that dominates the game or certain cups? I have a suspicion that A-rated boost racers are the best. How about tweaking acceleration vs top speed? How about custom vehicles? What do you guys use?

Also, please explain the weaving trick in detail.

cant remember what i used to use but i think its was like this:

C - grip
B - speed
and cant think what the other was called lol (havent played the game in a while)

it was a custom made racer so it wasnt very good besides the colour and logo on the racer and come to think of it, steel battalion: line of contact has a very similar custom logo creator like f-zero gx
STILL.... playing steel battalion: line of contact
vixtro's game collection

Snaking (weaving) - Get a heavy car with high grip - Black Bull works the best. Get some speed, and turn left while holding down L, then quickly turn right while holding down R. Keep alternating and you should notice that you're gaining a LOT of speed

Okay, cool - what kind of custom vehicles are best for weaving?

Hmm, I guess an A-E-A car would work pretty well, just try to use heavy parts. An A-A-A car could work too, but that might be TOO heavy. Sorry I haven't played in a while

I rented the game a while back and found that its best just to keep weight down a bit and go for a MASSIVE booster like the Titan X-3 or whatever its called. Honestly, after the first lap the only problem is not falling off the track from the collosal speeds.

I highly suggets you don't snake.
It'll ruin most of the game for you.

The game was easy enough without it anyway.

The vehicle i was using the majority of the game was the "fantasista" if i was going with a custom built, but i actually used McClouds car the most overall.  The one that I've been using recently was called.. "Moon Spider Z" I believe, very unique turning on that thing, i loved it.

I would go check, but a friend of mine is borrowing my cube at the moment.

I second this. Only snake if you're messing around, don't use it to win GPs and Story chapters.

Scroll up and read Molobert's first post...............
It's a trick to make you go faster, exploiting the fact that on max acceleration your car gains speed when you drift turn.

I'm stuck on the Third mission on story mode. Any tips on how to complete it?
