The next Wii sensor bar could be stickers. http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-11-scientists-long-lasting-infrared-emitting-material.html

But then what will the orange port be used for!?

Maybe an HD upgrade plug-in?

That's cool but, yeah the Framerate needs to be at least 30fps before its more then just a novelty.

I think if anything they need to bump the resolution up significantly before worrying too much about reaching a stable 60fps.

In the Signage area the resolution doesn't have to be that great because your not going to be that close.  In that arena the FPS and the power usage would be more critical.

Cancer curing Sugar!?
http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21228415.200-cancer-cells-poisoned-with-sugar.html
Quote
IT'S a heavy price to pay for a sweet tooth. Researchers have tricked glucose-eating cancer cells into consuming a sugar that essentially poisons them - it leaves a "suicide" switch within the cells open to attack.

"Most cancer cells rely almost exclusively on glucose to fuel their growth," says Guy Perkins of the University of California at San Diego. With Rudy Yamaguchi of Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan, Perkins found the cells would take up a similar sugar called 2-deoxyglucose. But this sugar physically dislodges a protein within the cell that guards a suicide switch. Once exposed, the switch can be activated by a drug called ABT-263. This kills the cell by liberating proteins that order it to commit suicide (Cancer Research, DOI: 10.1158/0008-5472.can-11-3091).

The approach could ultimately spell doom for several types of cancer, including liver, lung, breast and blood. In mice, the treatment made aggressive human prostate cancer tumours virtually disappear within days.

Yamaguchi and Perkins are now hoping to mount a clinical trial at UC San Diego.

It always fascinates me how solving biological diseases is so logical and puzzle like. Who would have thought a cell had a suicide switch, nonetheless one guarded by a protein that could only be dislodged with a trojan-horse like sugar.

Simply fascinating. Now I hope this study gets out so more scientists can replicate it and finally...finally we can put cancer behind us.

We'll never get rid of Cancer.  Its such a broad term.  Like saying we'll get rid of the Flu.

Exactly.

Besides, why would you want to get rid of it? Human population has become a huge problem in the past century and is only getting worse by the minute. Longer life expectancies don't help us out as a species if we, nor the planet, can sustain it. If you want to cure everyone of everything, then you need to start cracking down on the breeders and their numbers. Of course, that's not even accounting for the necessary eugenics. See what happens when you allow civilization to replace the basic tenets of survivalism?

i wonder how far they have gotten at recording audio, they have tapped into the visual part of the brain, but i imagine audio is deeper. Songs for instance stick in my head a lot, and I wonder if it counts as piracy if you can withdraw music from the brain.
