Should also mention that I don't really play much multiplayer.    Although interested in having friends for score swaps or leader boards and such.

I have gotten one lock up so far.  It was when trying to launch my friends list the first time.   So far that's been it, but I haven't exactly spent a lot of hours on the console yet.  Mostly about 2 hours in Nintendo Land.

I went through the whole thread and Miiverse'd everybody! But... I couldn't find CharlyTuna... is that misspelled? Also, redzombie, Sensei-K, Kwolf84, I could find your accounts but I couldn't send a friend request... have you gone into the dedicated friendlist in the Wii U Menu and set that up already?

   

Ahh No I haven't!  Thanks for the tip!  I clicked my friends list ones and got a hard lock for the one and only time.    Just went back and set it up.  Thanks for the tip!

Disappointed though that Nintendo network ID requires at least six letters.  Had to throw a few numbers into my user name to make it work.  Oh well.

Preordered a deluxe version myself.  After a busy week I just got the email today that it shipped.  Eagerly awaiting the packages arrival on Monday.    Didn't get any games for it, but I'm fairly sure I will be getting the new Super Mario Bro's U as an early birthday present.  So should be all good.

 I was totally blown away by the news, but after thinking on it, I'm kinda okay with this.   After Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and most of the new starwars trilogy. (Which I didn't hate, but really didn't like either) 

 I'm okay with some new blood being introduced to help steer these franchises.   Might be really interesting!  Could be total poo too.   Either way, going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

I went ahead and did an intend to buy on Nintendo Land, just on the off ball chance that the bundle version does come with a code.  Either way thanks for the heads up, went ahead and did New Super Mario Bros U too.

Whew..    3 days of support tickets and emails later.  I was finally able to at least get copy of the server files.
I would recommend people stay away from lethaldrive servers, except they just went under so no reason to stay away from them anymore..   Heh..

Anywho. I spent all morning getting this done.  I zipped together the world dat files from the server and uploaded them so anyone can download them.   I had to make a free account with Mediafire to do so, so there is no guarantee how long the download link will last.  So might want to get it as soon as you can.

I was able to use the files to get a local copy version of the server. (At least the normal world) Up and running within a few minutes.  They seem a bit disorganized with how a vanilla server stores it's files.  But moving them around a bit I was able to get them to work and the world looked like it was all there.

Really didn't have too much more time work on it, I gotta eat something and get to work. I just feel a bit better this morning knowing that at least the server files were recovered, so technically if someone feels up to it, it can live on.  I suppose if nothing else everyone can download a copy and have a copy of the work everyone put in too.

Again I apologize for any problems this has caused everyone.  It certainly was not my intentions.

Well as of right now I don't know.  I'm kinda angry about them just suddenly passing along all my billing information with no warning.   Right now I cannot even access the things they emailed me saying I could.

If nothing else I am trying to get access to the old server via ftp.  I would like to get a copy of the world dat.  So I could at least upload it somewhere for anyone here to download if they wanted to continue it on.    Right now though I am being denied access.   Once again I apologize to everyone.

Suppose I should post here, although I really don't want to bump the thread.   I know not many have been playing on the Survival server much.  (though it was fun while it lasted, I didn't expect it to last forever)

Thing is the host I rented it from  Lethaldrive.  Has decided to close/merge with another company with zero notice to it's customers.  For the time being the server is shut down as they go through this.  They didn't give me any notice.  I apologize to anyone who invested time on the server and feels lost on it.    I certainly didn't mean for this to happen.

Again I apologize to anyone who feels affected by it.

I think the 3ds's they are selling are through other places just using their market place as a exchange.

Amazon sent a message to all the people who signed up to be notified about Wii U preorders.  I will copy and paste what they sent me.

Right now besides the pack in Nintendo Land, I'm thinking of preordering either a copy of New Super Mario Bro U, or ZombiU.    Although I might change my mind.  I have a birthday coming up little under a month after launch.  Might just hope for a game then.   Who knows I might go with one of the other 3rd party titles other than ZombiU.  Right now Mario Bro's U is the only title I know for sure I will get one way or another.

Ah.. I know something else I will look into getting a Wii U Gamepad Screen Protector!

I gave best buy my preorder online. Went with the deluxe version with overnight shipping.   It's a long distance for me to go to any retail outlets to pick it up.  I think I can wait the extra day or so and get it Monday or Tuesday.   Funny thing, overnight shipping is cheaper than driving to town and back.   Still I enjoy living out in the country and wouldn't want it any other way.

I thought about waiting for Amazon, but their recent lack of handling Nintendo Hardware directly scared me off.  I don't have enough faith in them right now with Nintendo to give my preorder if they start taking them. 

Just glad to finally have the date and price announced and preorder done.    Now just gotta wait till it comes out.

I was nicely surprised about Nintendo TVii .  The general idea of being able to use a single app, to search/launch videos from multiple services is really nice.  I actually didn't expect this from Nintendo.   Along with the included links it seemed to have to imdb and wikipedia.  It could make for some really nice movie watching.

For some reason I have also enjoyed searching twitter for Bayonetta 2.  I'm just stunned at the amount of people who are angered by it being on Wii U.   Chances are if Nintendo wasn't publishing it this game wouldn't even be around at this point.  All the rumors before hand were pointing to it being canned.

Maybe I just like reading those responses to feed some kinda inner internet troll I didn't know I had though.  As they did kinda tickle me.

Ah well I get plenty of people from other countries, it's usually just Japan and a few random others..  Hardly ever see European people.   That's why I was asking.   Well if it is a flat no restrictions on multiplayer so far, that is good..  Cause it would be nice to play future games like Animal Crossing online for the 3ds when it comes out.  Thanks for the heads up.

  Ditto on this.. I still haven't played mine, but this might get me to do it.    Be much easier to find time to play it, if I can do it on the sofa while talking with others.

So with the 3DS being region locked I have a question.   A friend of mine recently asked about getting a 3ds.  We were both curious as to what the current situation is with international multiplayer  Given that I am from the United States, and they are from Germany.

Now I know in MarioKart 7, I see people occasionally from Japan and such.   Yet I can't remember seeing anyone from Europe.   So does anyone know what the current situation is with titles and international play?  Is it on a per title basis?  Is there perhaps a list of titles that actually support play between US and European versions?

Was really having a hard time finding information on this subject.  When most of my searches just turned up things about region locking and such. I'm mainly curious about the compatibility between European versions of games and american versions in multiplayer.   Especially first party. 

I'm guessing there isn't going to be a simple flat answer for this, even though I really wish there was.   Yet I thought I would ask here given the people here.  I thought maybe someone might know more or know of a wiki/list that keeps track of such things.

I sent a few of the stationeries I got from fellow NWR members to a friend of mine today.  I think he thought it was pretty cool how they can spread almost virally. I think he friended his sisters boyfriends kid or something.  Said he started using swapnote.    I like the idea of him sending these to this kid, and him just passing it along to his other friends.   Really kinda cool to think about it.

It is kinda sad.  I will admit I'm part of the problem. I haven't read or subscribed since about 2001 ish.  Recently a few months ago I thought about buying a subscription just for kicks.   Guess that won't be happening.  Still sad to see it go.  I remember enjoying the magazine so much as a kid and then later even in my teens.

Just thought I would let anyone know that the server has been upgraded to a beta client of the new bukkit version.  So it's running the newest patch for minecraft client.   Seems to be running alright so far.

Just a heads up it might be a little bit before the server gets upgraded to 1.3.  Will have to wait till the next bukkit update.  Although the team says it should be up fairly soon and they are hard at work.   Just wanted to let everyone know.  Hopefully won't be that long.

Probably keep it. I have two wii's actually.  One in my bedroom and one in my living room.   They will both make good backup's to each other and for my game cubes.   I still have all my systems in various storage around the house.

I gotta say you guys have to check out Oblivions pvp arena, that thing looks seriously dangerous.

I built a small temple near my house.   I was going to fill it with book shelves, but then I remembered how you can do enchanting tables.   Luckily I had just enough diamonds from digging to make a diamond pick and half 3 left over.  I needed two to make the table.

Anyway, there is now an enchanting table in there.  I used up all 8 of my levels on it.  It's pretty cool.

Also near my house on the desert line..  There is some more obsidian.  There was a pool of lava there.. I watered it to make the obsidian.  I really have no use for it though, I just needed four to make the table.

I will warn whoever wants it though.  Be careful of lava beneath the obsidian. I almost fell in.   So just mine it carefully.

P.S big thanks to Oblivion for all the bread..  That will keep me fed for sometime thanks again
