Dear Cing: Please Save Me!
« on: September 30, 2008, 02:54:30 AM »
Dear Cing Spies:

Where are you guys?
I loved Trace Memory and Hotel Dusk.
I picked up Professor Layton.  Great Game.  Nothing like TM or HD.

I picked up Millionheir.  Wished I didn't.

*almost* considered picking up some Nancy Drew game.  Snapped out of it.

When are you guys going to step up and release your next game?  If I end up buying something like Nancy Drew, I'm blaming you.

WHY?!?!

... I LIKED the first Nancy Drew DS game... It's more of an Adventure Lite, so I guess if you want Cing style stuff it won't satisfy but still...

I may be wrong but I think Cing is one of the co-developers of Little King's Story.

You aren't wrong...

Though I don't think the entire team is working on it, so we could be hearing news about their next adventure sometime soon...

Have you picked up Touch Detective 1 and 2? Very good game, great humor. Closest thing to the Cing games.

I'd say Trace Memory was also "Adventure Lite," but it could be because I played it right after playing through the entire Myst series.

Yeah, Trace Memory also felt a little on the light-weight side to me... maybe because it didn't hide it's linearity enough (Nancy Draw doesn't hide its linearity at all pretty much) *shrug*. But Cing REALLY nailed the atmosphere.

Touch Detective is on the other end of the spectrum, it's SOOO crazy and open-ended that the puzzles have the most un-guessable-un-fathomable answers evar, at least to me. T_T

If your craving for a point and click game I highly recommend Time Hollow, the story and the events that occur in the game is very interesting. Even though I did beat it in 3 days I sunk about 3 - 5 hours per day on it. I think it will last some about 10 hours at average as long as you don't get lost but it's pretty straight forward as long as you know what your doing.

But is it a new game, or a port of the DS game?

I did.  Twice. :)

The reason I asked is because the only place I've read about it so far (Kotaku) worded it in such a way that made me think it might not be a new game...

"Another Code (a Wii version of the DS adventure game)."

I didn't.

**** you, Cing.  **** you and your stupid "can't go back once you pass through this door but we're not going to tell you that until it's too late and you already saved your game causing you to miss one damn sheet of paper that was locked in the damn desk drawer that you couldn't figure out how open the first time but you thought you could go back and retrieve it later but you couldn't so hahaHAHAHA".

Now that goddamn ghost will have to wander the island forever.  Serves him right for being a jerk.

Hotel Dusk was awesome.

Well considering how short the game is it's not THAT big of a deal to replay it, is it? :tpg:

I don't have the time to play all the games I want to.  What makes you think I have time to replay the ones I've already beat?
