Quoted for truth. The sixith season of the Simpsons was animated bliss as far as I'm concerned.

I pretty much agree with Wandering's rankings, but I'd switch Old Family Guy and Futurama, as Futurama holds up better to multiple views and was more consistent through its run.

yeah, that's probably true. I still wouldn't switch them, there are still moments in Family Guy where the first time through I laughed so hard it hurt (the episode where Peter becomes a feminist...) But now, I can't even watch old Family Guy episodes, while Futuruma still holds up... what with its better characters, better visuals, better storylines, etc.

The Episode "Jurassic Bark", fits in the very emotional part. It also happens to be my favorite episode because it is also the most heartbreaking.

ah, one of my favorites. Also fantastic was the last episode. And the one where Fry is stung by a space bee.

UPDATE: Turns out the 24-episode season is a lie. Its going to be 4 movies instead. Hopefully its better than the Family Guy movie - that was like they took an episode and stretched it out to last an hour.

Arrested Development is something else. I found a link talking about the top 25 moments in AD (can't find the link now, trust me it was there) and so I started watching it again. It's still great! Much like the Office has that great mix of writing, comedy and awkwardness, AD has it, but turns everything on its ear thanks to all the actors, not just Ricky Gervais. COOKAA, COOKAA, COOKA (watch the "Staff Infection" episode everyone!)

Futurama is a classic series, I hope that they don't rape and mutilate my fond memories like the new Family Guy has (although seeing James Woods acting like a dog, right down to the "running while dreaming" moment tickled my funny bone).

I liked "Futurama" but only because of "Dr.Zoidberg" and his crazy antics. The "Family Guy" is ok sometimes but other times it is just a pointless waste of time. My favourite old-time comedy would have to be "The Black Adder".

Ahahahaha snob comedy. I'd rather watch Mr Bean, personally. Now that's a show that got cut during its prime!

Billy West lied about the 26 episodes? Do you have a link?

The 4 movie thing was the old rumor b4 the update of what Billy said, but 6-7 episodes = 2hr+ movie x 4 = 4 movies.

LINKAGE!

Billy didn't lie, he was just uninformed. Also I don't think this link has anything about movies, but maybe I didn't read it all.

Yeah, since they announced the date a few months ago I have been excited. Same when they announced the episode description last week. I hope they follow up on how the 4th movie ended (I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, although all Futurama fans should).

I know the comment is 4 years old, but Wandering is nuts if he thought that Family Guy was EVER better than Futurama.

I was partial to Bender's Big Score. To me, that was far and away the best of the 4 movies.

Yeah, Thursday is a special 1 hour season premiere (officially it is the sixth season because Fox pulled that BS by splitting the last season over two years, the staff of the show considers this their fifth season). A lot of fans are worried about whether the new episodes will be as good; being on Comedy Central means they have a much smaller budget from Fox and have fewer writers.

The show had a great balance though, too few writers can be bad too. At least some of the best writers (like Ken Keeler) are coming back.

There probably won't be any episodes with elaborate effects like some of the ones the show had, but it could still be entertaining.

Apparently people prefer childish dick jokes to witty/bizarre humor?

Episode two was a travesty of what Futurama is all about.

Really though, both episodes included too much bathroom humor.  I seriously feel like the writers are thinking "Man, we got cancelled before. Time to cater to the dumbass masses."

I'm trying hard not to be critical and look for failings in the new show.  I don't know how I'd ever enjoy it, or how I could possibly not find faults nitpicking like that.  So I'm only going to complain about the ending of the second episode.  That should not have happened.  Otherwise, it was pretty good, and I'm willing to wait and see if the humor is really going to be raunchier now that the Panama Wormhole has put them on the Comedy Central Channel.

I actually liked both episodes, but the first one was better. And any chance to see more of Amy's boobs is a good thing (she looked hot in that dominatrix outfit).
